22.01.2022 Ready for the lid to be lifted right off? Hang onto your hats because this AUSTRALIAN REPORT was quite disturbing for us to watch, even though we already knew w...hats been going on behind the scenes Some important factors we took from this report were: * The petfood industry is involved at the beginning of a Vets career. * The Vet industry in Australia is estimated to be around 8 Billion dollars * Its now proven that Vets do have that incentive to sell certain products as Dr. Robert Johnson who is the president of the Australian Veterinary Association mentions without this sort of sponsorship their Association couldnt continue to provide so called excellent education to their veterinarians... In other words, let them continue to educate your Vets on how to continue to contribute to your dogs ill health somewhere along the line by recommending a processed kibble. * Hills food is promoted in the University Vet Hospital * Hills pays for branded clinic coats for Vets to wear * Almost all discharge letters for animals recommend Hills diet How can your Veterinarian be a trusted provider about scientific information about our pets when theyve got a vested interest in selling you a heat processed product. So, lets round this out... If your Vet is selling and recommending to you to feed your German Shepherd kibble as a main source diet, not only is it unethical, but its a win win for them. They make money on selling you the product in the first instance and when you take your German Shepherd back to your Vet with a skin disorder, ear infection, problems with their stools, dull coats, lack of energy, or end up worse with autoimmune diseases or Cancer because of these of ingredients included such as Chicken By-Product Meal, Whole Grain Wheat, Whole Grain Corn, Soybean Mill Run, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Chicken Liver Flavor, Soybean Oil, they continue to make money from you for treating your German Shepherd, when its highly likely the problem came from what they sold you in the first place. This is a conflict of interest and disgusting to watch and another reason why the relationship with your Vet needs to be two way, not just their way when it comes to those of them who recommend and sell you a processed meal that should not go anywhere near your dogs mouth as a main source diet Look after your German Shepherd correctly pleasssssssse

15.01.2022 A look at the future of dog grooming?

14.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that I am no longer able to continue dog Grooming. I love all of my dogs who have been in my care and it is sad that I no longer feel physically able to continue to care for them. I have been very unwell for quite a while now culminating in a hospital stay with a lung infection. I have felt like a hamster on an ever turning wheel who occasionally falls off, dusts herself off and jumps back on the ever faster turning wheel. ... I would like to sincerely thank all of my clients for their patronage and all of their dogs for the love they always show me. I have been very fortunate to meet a young vibrant lady named Sandra who is starting a grooming business in this area. Woof Wash and Whistle. Sandra has groomed two of my dogs and I was glad to be able to report that she is very similar to me in process in that she works gently with the dogs to give them a very relaxed and kind time whilst being groomed. I was very pleased with her process and love given. I hope you will give Sandra a try as it has made me very happy to know that I can pass on my beloved clients to another gentle groomer. Her number is 0429 775 399. Please be patient with her as she has had trouble with her phone. To be certain that she has received your message you could also send a text. Be sure to tell her that you are one of my clients too. I have offered that she can use my grooming room for my clients so that they feel at home in familiar surrounds. Sadly I apologise that I cannot continue grooming but I need to concentrate on getting back my health. Cheers to you all and a big pat for your dog/s. Julie

03.01.2022 We would like to introduce you to a very special boy looking for a very special permanent foster home. Victoria only. Albert is a cavalier x poodle who is 7mth...s old and has a condition called Megaesophagus. Megaesophagus is a generalized enlargement of the esophagus -- a muscular tube connecting the throat to the stomach -- with a decreased to absent motility. Esophageal motility is required for moving food and liquid down to the stomach. The symptoms include regurgitation of both food and water, lack of appetite and poor weight gain and the danger of aspiration pneumonia. Albert was born with this condition and unfortunately there is no cure. It is managed with the right type and consistency of food, eating while sitting upright and medication. His foster mum Caz and family cared for him lovingly during his first weeks in care with many vet visits and tests to get to a diagnosis. He had a great time on the farm becoming acquainted with all manner of animals, playing with the kids and following Caz around while she worked. Once we had a diagnosis and plan of management for Albert we realised that he needed a lot of special care and attention and that is where Monique & Bianca stepped up to help. A few words from them about sweet Albert. "When Mum and I were asked if we could foster Albert we jumped at the chance, we were eager to learn more about him and to help him grow and thrive with his condition. We knew it wasnt going to be easy especially with his Megaesophagus as we knew at times it would be challenging, but once we learnt more about the condition we soon realized that Albert was a normal happy go lucky pup, he just had to eat differently than other dogs. He wasnt any more fragile or less Rambunctious than other pups. He really just wanted to play, sleep and be normal. Of course there are things we must be mindful of such as watching him drink to ensure he doesnt drink too fast or regurgitate it, as well as ensuring that there is no food on the ground for him to pick up as he wont be able to swallow it so we are constantly aware of what we drop or give the other animals ensuring Albert cannot get to it. Albert is such a patient boy, he just adores cuddles, the other animals and playing with his tennis balls. We have had to trial different foods and substances to see what foods he could best swallow without coughing. Throughout all of these experiments he just handled it all so well. He is one of the most forgiving, lovable dogs you could come across (He does still have his puppy antics) To eat Albert now uses a bailey chair which helps him to swallow and allows the food to travel to the stomach much more smoothly as it uses gravity to help push it down. He needs to sit in it for about 10 min after food as this ensures that his food has travelled far enough down that he wont regurgitate it back up once hes out of the chair. Before Albert had the Bailey chair he had to be held upright whilst eating to mimic being in the chair, if he didnt stand upright his food wouldnt travel to his stomach but instead would sit in a pocket in his esophagus and would cause Albert to regurgitate it, Causing discomfort, damage to his esophagus, the chance of aspiration as well as not allowing Albert to receive the nutrients he needs. We hope that this tells you a bit more about dogs with Mega E and that even though they do need more care and attention when it comes to feeding, they are still very normal, happy and life loving dogs." Albert is doing so well and steadily putting on weight. He is a happy, normal puppy in every other way. Cheeky, playful, naughty and affectionate he is one of the most amazing puppies Ive known. Albert needs someone who doesnt work and has the time to commit to caring for a special needs dog. He would love to go with you everywhere, hes very social!, and needs another dog at home to play with. Please PM us if you think you can provide the perfect home for Albert.
