11.01.2022 It’s 2020 already, and life is getting back to normal for most of us. Spare a thought for bush fire victims and fighters. Apart from the smoke, Inverloch has been lucky enough to emerge unscathed from the recent devastation. Work is still In Progress on the upcoming festival and in less than 3 weeks, the ‘Early Bird’ will fly the coop and the discount tickets will go with it. On 31st January, Early Bird discounts will end and full price will commence on 1st February.... If you are planning on coming in March, check out our web site www.invyjazz.com to see the full program of bands and musicians, and book your tickets online to take advantage of the Early Bird discount! Everyone is invited, so we hope to see you there.

09.01.2022 It is with great sorrow that we learn Patsy O’Neil has passed away. Patsy was a stalwart of the Inverloch Jazz Festival over many, many years, singing to enraptured audiences. Always popular, always smiling, always laughing, and always with a kind word for everyone. Among her many activities, Patsy was a member of the festival committee for a number of years, and we were very grateful to have her guidance and advice. Patsy will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to her family and many friends. Inverloch Jazz Festival Committee

06.01.2022 Glenys Dale, our volunteer selling Jazz Festival raffle tickets for $3,000 worth of prizes- $400 BBQ, 40 TV etc. outside the Bliss shop, Inverloch, here on the magnificent Bass Coast in South West Gippsland.

05.01.2022 The 27th Inverloch Jazz Festival (2020) was a huge success, thanks to the organisers, the volunteers, the musicians and of course, you the jazz loving attendees. Inverloch was very fortunate to host the 2020 Jazz Festival just before the National Coronavirus lockdown. As it happened, that March festival was not only the last festival anywhere in Australia (because of COVID-19) but also the last one to be held in Inverloch for that March long weekend. Change to a Winter Jazz F...estival Next year (2021) the Inverloch Jazz Festival will be held over the first weekend of August from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August (Make a note). The move was prompted by requests from many festival patrons, musicians and local traders to move the festival away from the over-busy Labour Day long weekend. The Bass Coast Council has strongly supported the move and will provide significant funding for the first couple of years to help with the change. Winter is a great time to be in Inverloch. OK, the swimming is out for most, but the music venues and the numerous cafes and hotels are wonderfully cosy warm places to be. The locals really enjoy winter, there is room to move, you can easily get a meal, and you don’t have to wait a long time for the lattés. Finding a place to park the car is a breeze, and strolling along near-deserted beaches can be a joy. Accommodation will be readily available and will be much more affordable in the winter off-season period. The organising committee has started planning for 2021, and we are optimistic that by the August weekend the worst of this dreadful coronavirus affected time will be over. The musicians have overwhelmingly supported the change and the festival will again be blessed with many fine jazz performers. We will keep you up to date with news as the planning proceeds. We hope you stay safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you to the 28th Inverloch Jazz Festival in 2021.

05.01.2022 Only 3 weeks to go! The busy organising committee has expanded the festival this year, increasing the number of venues from three to five, housing some 55 bands and more than 200 musicians. There will be a number of new bands together with old favourites, and more younger musicians than in previous years. Many more bands apply than can be fitted in, and bands are selected using the criteria of quality musicianship, variety of jazz styles, entertainment value, and our desire ...to present a number of new bands and musicians each year. We are delighted that, among the many talented musicians who will be playing, Australian jazz icon Tony Gould is returning to the festival this year. His trio will be playing on the Saturday and should not be missed as they present some of the jazz world’s greatest melodies. We encourage you to have a look at the festival website, www.invyjazz.com for the latest information on the bands and program. Jump the queues at the ticket desk by pre purchasing your tickets online. Go to our website and select Tickets. Just show your printed or electronic ticket at the Community Hub to collect your weekend badge or day pass wristband and just get on with the jazz!
