02.01.2022 Well that was a solid start to the build. Our #shedhome frame went up within a matter of hours (time lapse vid below) and to see all the hard work finally take ...physical form was super rewarding. I’ll share in more detail the specifics of the costs of our build down the line. But we are on track for lockup around 45k. (Plumbing, electrical, slab, frame, windows, cladding etc). The beauty of utilising a shed company is the savings by using pre fab Steele and cladding. We expect to have next to zero wastage by lock up stage and this helps our back pocket and the environment. Working this way requires being very adaptable but I’m finding it throws me into a creative flow and forces us to let go of control. I have to be honest, we have been pretty disillusioned with the world of late. The fabric of much of society we have known and trusted has revealed a questionable layer. We have found that by removing ourselves from the rat race somewhat, and creating on our terms, we feel happier than ever. Personally, allowing myself to step back from the chase of more work, notoriety, and more money has been liberating... but I still struggle with it daily. This shed home represents so much for us and although we still dont know how this will all turn out, it’s already gifted us so much. I’ll make sure I chat to all the key peeps that have been involved in this process in the coming weeks to give people a greater insight on what goes on behind the scenes. @caplebuilders @studioblakemore @westgippysheds See more
