24.01.2022 All Welcome Come & Try free practice night on tomorrow from 7 pm. If you would like to play in our summer night comp please put your name on list in clubrooms.

24.01.2022 Hi all. The Korrine and District Junior Tennis Association AGM was held on 19/08/2020. Discussed at this meeting was the Final of the summer competition 2019-2020 season. This Final has not been played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.... It was the associations intention to play this final. It’s scheduled date for play was 12/09/2020. When this date was selected, there was no way of knowing that further restrictions on the Victorian community were going to be imposed. The scheduled date for play on 12/09/2020 is subject to stage 3 restrictions and is no longer viable. With such uncertainty surrounding what restrictions we will be subjected to, and the long delay already imposed, the association has made the decision not to reschedule the final and it will not be played. The association has decided that the premiers of each section is to be determined by regular season championship points (only applicable to the teams in the final). Therefore, the team in the final that placed highest on the regular season ladder is declared the winner. These are unprecedented times. The association would have loved to have seen the final played, and afforded the runners up the chance to win a championship. All players should be very proud of their performances and congratulated for making the final. Both teams are deserving of success. The final results of the 2019-2020 summer season are as follows. Premiers Runners up Pennant. Korumburra Wonthaggi Section 1. Inverloch blue Phillip Island red Section 2. Wonthaggi Phillip Island red Section 3. Poowong blue Poowong green Section 4. Phillip Island Korumburra Team managers of the relevant sections will be contacted by your club‘s committee representative and arrangements made for the presentation of trophies and premiership flag. These are regrettably subject to social distances requirements and no formal presentation ceremony will be held. Kind regards, Scott Simcock President Korrine and District Junior Tennis Association.

12.01.2022 Court Upgrade. During our most unusual summer and autumn the upgrade to the Inverloch tennis courts has been steadily progressing. The start of the project saw the site blanketed in bushfire smoke. Then partway through it became temporally flooded before running into the Covid 19 lockdown. Despite all of this, however the courts are now nearing completion. The new perimeter netting is in place and the courts are sealed and awaiting line marking, followed by the installation o...f new net posts and nets. The light towers are also on track, and only some few weeks away. The committee has also decided to use a part of club funds in order to reseal the bottom courts. It’s the perfect time to get this done while the contractors are still on site. The two courts will be ground back, pressure washed, primed, base coated and finished to match the top courts. They will be remarked and have new nets and posts provided. This will make all six courts consistent with each other and looking great. So by the time we resume competition, it will be at a very different facility to the one we have known of late. During this difficult time we would appreciate if you could please try and support our local loyal sponsors. 04.01.2022 Temporary closure of ITC. Please find attached a communication issued by Tennis Victoria today, recommending the closure of all tennis clubs. The Inverloch Tennis Club Committee have decided to implement Tennis Victoria's recommendation, and will lock the clubhouse and courts tonight.... We will keep all our members up to date with any further communication from Tennis Victoria. Regards Inverloch tennis club committee. To the Tennis Victoria Community; our Members, Clubs, Volunteers, Associations, Coaches and Venue Operators, With the continued escalation of social isolation measures in Victoria and following consultation with the tennis community and Government, Tennis Victoria is recommending that as soon as is practically possible for your club or coaching business: All tennis programmes and coaching be cancelled, including one on one coaching, until further notice All club, association and social play be cancelled until further notice All tennis clubs and centres close until further notice This decision has been incredibly difficult. We know our community loves our sport and that many people are looking for ways to remain fit and active whilst adhering to very strict social distancing guidelines. We are also acutely aware that this recommendation will impact the livelihood of our excellent tennis coaches. However, we are also clear that health and wellbeing must be our priority at this time. Tennis Victoria staff are working remotely to limit contact but are all still available to support you through this challenge: Information and resources to support coaches will be sent to all Tennis Australia Coach Members individually and our Coaching Leaders are available when required. Your Tennis Victoria representative is available for volunteers and we will remain in contact as we try and work our way through this together. The infection rates of this virus vary substantially across all states and territories and as such the recommendation to cease tennis activity temporarily is for Victoria only at this stage. Tennis Australia will continue to work with the state tennis bodies to ensure compliance with the different Federal and State Government recommendations. The current Community Tennis Guidelines for Continued Play are still relevant for all states and territories outside of Victoria. We are exploring all appropriate options for resuming tennis in a safe way when health officials deem it appropriate. This pandemic and these exceptional circumstances will pass and we want to work with our partners to ensure tennis is back bigger and better than ever. This is a challenging time for everyone, please stay home and stay safe. Kind regards Prof. Emma Sherry (President, Tennis Victoria) and Ruth Holdaway (Chief Executive, Tennis Victoria)
