25.01.2022 An Investigator's Perspective: How To Conduct A Background Check. Follow Us To Learn More!
25.01.2022 In late 2012, our private investigation firm was first approached by a client - lets call him Mr Stephens. Like most people who use our services, Stephens had a sorry tale to tell. He told us how he had been successfully blackmailed in the recent past by an anonymous cyberbully who now wanted more money. What set this particular case apart was the scope of the investigation that was conducted. We had no idea at ...the time that our evidence would ultimately enable Stephens to take the matter to the NSW Supreme Court. What we did know at the outset was that we would have to approach the investigation with our customary level of diligence and care to give our client any prospect of success. The most fascinating cases involve solving a set of disparate problems in a careful and creative way. The blackmail investigation described below is such a case. As a result of the evidence we gathered, our client was able to successfully sue the defendant in the Supreme Court of NSW and the case ultimately helped to develop the law with respect to the tort of intimidation. 24.01.2022 : When a client approaches a private investigator to conduct a period of surveillance, its not like hiring a plumber, getting a car serviced or having an accountant do your tax return. It is something the client will probably never have done before and may never do again so there is inevitably a level of uncertainty about how the process works. Having performed thousands of field operations over our 37 year history, including for law firms,... government agencies, high-profile individuals, insurers, multinationals and others, we know that planning surveillance is imperative. Some clients will be hesitant about providing confidential details to an investigator but without the full known actual details, the investigation will almost certainly be unsuccessful. 24.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what the difference between a and a is? How about a and an ? As it turns out, each name has a different significance that enables one to distinguish between them. Generally, a street is a public way that has buildings on either side of it, whereas a road can be anything that connects two points. Avenues share the same characteristics as streets but run perpendicular to them, and a boulevard is essentially a wide avenue or s...treet which has a median strip running through its middle. A is described as a road with a dead-end. These are the typical conventions that most cities follow, although they do vary across the world. What much of the world considers a place, for instance, is known widely to Brits and Australians as a --. Also in Australia, our boulevards generally refer to a long stretch of road which regularly curves. The more you know!

23.01.2022 Could your client have unclaimed money out there? The most successful lawyers are those who build rapport and trust with their clients by adding value wherever possible. One such way is by providing them with the opportunity to reclaim money that they otherwise would never have even known about. Its not uncommon for investments, shares, bank accounts and insurance policies to become lost when a person forgets to update his or her information after moving residence. Unclaimed... money is tracked and documented by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). ASIC allows individuals to conduct free unclaimed money searches on its web database using either an original transaction number or a full name. If lost money is found, the owner is then able to lodge a claim to receive it. To have your client check if they have any unclaimed money out there, forward them this link: https://www.moneysmart.gov.au/tools-an/find-unclaimed-money If nothing is revealed in an ASIC search, it can be useful to search for other types of unclaimed money through the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman or state government websites. State governments hold unclaimed money from various sources including trust-funds, salaries and share dividends. Process refers to legal documents that summon a person or legal entity (a subject) to court, and serving is the action of physically presenting the subject person with these documents. 21.01.2022 For one reason or another, it can become necessary to prove whether a person was or wasnt at a particular location at a certain point in time. For example, in disputes between intimate partners, a credible alibi could absolve you from guilt in the eyes of a suspicious spouse or lover. In criminal or civil matters, evidence that places an individual at a certain place and time can be the difference between a favourable judgement and a disas...trous outcome. This has been the recent experience of washing machine repairman Bill Spedding, whose life was upended due to wrongful accusations of child abduction in the infamous William Tyrell case. From the outset, the officers in charge of the investigation publicly named Spedding as a suspect in the boy's abduction, and appeared to direct the bulk of their attention toward him (likely at the expense of other promising leads). Half a decade on and Spedding is now suing the state of New South Wales for malicious prosecution by NSW Police and malfeasance in public office. Read on for more information on how Spedding demonstrated his innocence and why a person's location is often their best alibi: https://www.investigators.net.au//your-location-is-the-be/

15.01.2022 Fingerprint analysis is one of the most common ways of identifying an individual and has increased dramatically in accuracy since it was first used in 1911. This process of identification relies on matching the patterns of certain characteristics of a print and carefully comparing them to the patterns on another print. There are a number of key details that fingerprint analysts look out for, including islands, dots, and ridge-endings'. The highly detailed, unique and d...urable nature of fingerprints makes them excellent long-term identifiers for police, investigators and other authorities to utilise in their work. Our forensic investigators are able to determine whether or not fingerprints are readily apparent on a surface, as well as collect and analyse the evidence at a standard acceptable for use in a court of law. 15.01.2022 ? Provided there are no court orders preventing such a course of action, any person or business may be subject to an investigation. 15.01.2022 P I? Youve probably heard about services that private eyes provide such as background checks, surveillance and missing person investigations. Did you know however that professional investigation firms also provide digital forensics, legal & business services, family investigations, handwriting forensics and more?... Background checks reveal details about a subject's business or personal life and are a great way to learn more at the beginning of a relationship or when doubts about the subject arise. Investigators regularly locate missing persons like debtors, family members, beneficiaries and others, whether in Australia or overseas. 07.01.2022 Find Out How A Private Investigator Utilises Databases And Other Resources To Locate a Missing Person
05.01.2022 Believe it or not, police regularly fail to provide assistance to victims of cybercrime. This is because, for the most part, the police lack the resources to tackle this increasingly prevalent form of criminal activity. Dont despair however as a digital forensic technician is available to individuals and businesses. A forensic tech can gather evidence of hacking, malicious online activity, or the presence of malware from a device or network. They're then able to pass on any ...evidence to the police, who will be more inclined to treat the case seriously seeing as the hard work has been done. Investigators are also useful in civil matters, where the standard of proof (in Australia) is reduced from beyond reasonable doubt to the balance of probabilities. Defamation, for instance, is usually carried out anonymously online. Investigators can work toward uncovering the identity of the perpetrator and establishing their whereabouts for the purposes of serving them legal notices. Even in those cases that are initially treated as criminal, an investigator may be able to assist a person or business in pursuing civil action if law enforcement is unhelpful. 03.01.2022 Australians need to locate missing persons for a number of reasons. You might want to get in touch with a family member, an old friend, or track down a person who owes you money. It might be necessary to find a witness in a legal dispute or a beneficiary in a deceased estate. Sometimes, theres a need to identify and locate the user of a particular phone number or email address, or to determine who lives at a particular address. Locating peopl...e, also called skip tracing, has become easier in the age of social media but there are still plenty of people who are hard to find. Private investigators are experts at finding people so if you cant get an address or the contact details of a person youre trying to find from a few Google searches, you might need the assistance of an experienced PI. Investigators locate missing persons by conducting database searches. Various databases store details for citizens and residents of Australia and by searching these records carefully, most missing persons can be found. Sometimes, other types of inquiries are also necessary and a skilled investigator can advise you accordingly. Read-on for more information: https://www.investigators.net.au//missing-persons-investi/
