22.01.2022 The changing of the guard at Berkshire is inevitable and becoming closer and closer. It will be this transition that will be the test and how the investment philosophy's of Buffett and Munger will have morphed into the next generation of management. Until then, the company will continue to appear somewhat of a dinosaur, albeit a species that is almost ready to shed its skin for a new life in a completely changed environment!

18.01.2022 Avoiding fear of missing out syndrome!

08.01.2022 Many new investors view the share market to be a mythical pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! Rather than approaching it as a very broad pallet which is available to create completely bespoke solutions to an invdividuals investment needs. Not not unlike your snake roundup, where many competitors most probably collect as many reptiles as is possible and hope that, the biggest or fattest or most agressive (or whatever the prize catagories may be) will be amongst their haul!. ... Where an experienced campaignor may target certain catagories having accumulated enough research and knowledge over the years to head to specific areas in order to snare quality snakes. It is the experience and knowledge i.e. antivenin loading, that provides the winning edge and a higher probability for success. New investors it would seem are jumping feet first, following the crowd, assuming markets just keep moving up, totally neglecting basic economic principles that are intrinsically linked to markets and failing to recognise the cyclical nature of their investing. When the inevitable bear leg of the cycle occurs these investors are completely oblivious of the opportunities being thrown up to them and run faster than a snake roundup judge next to a disntegrating snake basket! A greater level of knowledge and research would improve their long term results immensely.

05.01.2022 Investing never changes, just those investing!
