23.01.2022 Tamworth intermodal is set to become a key hub for businesses wishing to take advantage of increased freight capacity and reduced costs after receiving $28 million in funding from the NSW Government. 22.01.2022 Businesses will have the opportunity to take advantage of projected freight efficiencies from the $40 million Riverina Intermodal Freight and Logistics (RiFL) hub after the signing on of cornerstone investor Visy Logistics. The hub and the Wagga Wagga Special Activation Precinct are expected to attract new investors, industries, technologies and jobs due to improved transport, utility and data connections in Bomen business park and the inland port. Better access to the $10B Inland Rail Network will also support company expansion to more easily connect with domestic and international markets. 20.01.2022 The Commonwealth Government recently announced Round 10 of the Cooperative Research Centres Projects Grants. Round 10 is open to applications that have a focus on addressing gaps in Australia’s waste and recycling capability, particularly in regards to plastics, paper, glass and tyres, with $10 million in funding available. 08.01.2022 Ampcontrol has unveiled its emergency ventilator, the ‘Ventasys’, produced in response to the NSW Government’s ‘call-to-arms’ to develop a low-cost, back-up ventilator solution during the COVID-19 pandemic. With final testing nearing completion, and subject to receipt of the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) permission to supply, the Ventasys will progress to the manufacturing phase. 03.01.2022 Albury's Nexus Precinct is set to be a recycling powerhouse as construction begins on Australia's largest PET recycling plant, which is expected to recycle around 1 billion PET plastic bottles per year. The $45 million plant is to be delivered in a joint venture between Asahi Beverages, Pact Group Holdings Ltd and Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd, and was made possible with $5 million from the Environmental Trust as part of the NSW Government’s Waste Less, Recycle More initiative.
