One thing they did know prior to working with me is that an exercise and nutrition plan was not enough to help them with their health goals. They needed to work out why they were emotionally eating, why they always felt guilty for not doing enough, why they looked in the mirror and never felt good enough, why they never feel comfortable in their skin. These are all things my coaching program focuses on The program is completely tailored to your needs, meaning there is no weekly format or generic formula. Our sessions are heavily guided by you & your needs; I ask you questions to discover what your deep rooted beliefs are and what has stopped you in the past from being the best version of you. I will give you some homework to do each week and then each session is guided by what has come up in your life. It's all about you, and want you want. We have all been there, feeling guilty for.. resting when there’s so much to do eating something we shouldn’t... having time away from your children The list goes on.. How would your life improve if you started to remove the feeling of guilt? It’s not easy, it certainly takes work. But it can be done. Feeling guilty is a choice. 20.01.2022 There is so much more to change than waking up one day and deciding that you have had enough. That's certainly a great starting point though! One of the biggest reasons why we struggle to make changes is we are doing it backwards. We think that by simply deciding and taking action that its going to work. Then we get disappointed in ourselves for not maintaining it. This is one of the biggest reasons why I made the change from Personal Training to Coaching. Writing an exercise... program or nutrition plan for client is helping them change the wrong way around. That would be like trying to build a house on rocky foundation. The house might be ok for a while but that foundation is likely to wobble; maybe even collapse. So how do we build a solid foundation? Firstly you must resolve the past by getting rid of unwanted negative emotions and limiting beliefs. This is where I come in When I first start working with a client I ask them exactly what they want. Then we start working on why they haven't been able to achieve this in the past. This is when I get an idea of what negative emotions and limiting beliefs have been holding them back. Once we resolve these its now time to focus on what you want! Then it's time to take action. Taking action without resolving negative emotions and negative beliefs is like paddling upstream. You are constantly working AGAINST the current, which creates a lot of resistance. Sound familiar? 13.01.2022 On this day 3 years ago I finished my course in NLP and Hypnotherapy qualifications. I still remember driving home with this sense of excitement. I had finally found my calling! A few months later Inside Out Health and Wellness Coaching was born I had found a way to tie all of my knowledge and experience in the health and fitness industry over the past 12 years and be able to now help clients on a deeper level. ... I had worked as a Personal Trainer for years listening to client's struggle with self doubt. I could help them with an exercise session a few days a week and even write them a program to do in between our sessions. I could also give them advice on what to eat. But it wasn't enough. I couldn't be there when a stressful event would occur that led to underlying issues of hurt, anger, resentment or even fear rise to the surface. Or when they had a bad day at work and all they wanted to do was come home and drink a bottle of wine to de-stress. Using NLP & Hypnotherapy I could finally help clients break their pattern of self sabotage that often led them to making choices (like eat chocolate or drink too much wine) that they didn't want to be making. It's that moment of choice; those key decisions during the day that will lead us to becoming the best version of ourselves or that lead us into a cycle of guilt and self pity. 12.01.2022 The Become your own Best Friend Podcast has hit a milestone... Celebrating over 4000 downloads I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you so much for all of your support ... When I started this podcast last year I had so many doubts about whether it would work. There were countless times when I would procrastinate over recording an episode because I was so worried about whether the episode would be good enough. I am so glad I kept pushing through the procrastination and not listening when my brain would tell me not to put myself out there. It’s certainly not easy to keep overriding the inner critic that tries to keep you safe. Are you procrastinating on doing something because you’re worried if you put in a full effort it won’t be good enough?
08.01.2022 Are you looking for the missing piece of the puzzle? You might be seriously invested in improving your health, both physically and financially, but you aren't getting the results you desire. You might be eating well and moving your body but can't shift the number on the scales.... You might be keen to make change but consistently fall into bad habits (just one more wine / piece of chocolate!) Did you know that your conscious mind controls your willpower, long term memory, critical and logical thinking? This makes up only 10% of your thoughts! Most of my clients think they need to rely on willpower in order to make a change. "If only I had enough willpower to avoid chocolate or wine." This sort of thinking is what catches most people out! I don't help clients to stay motivated or teach them how to improve their self control. I help clients from their subconscious mind which controls 90% of your thoughts! Would you rather work on something that will help you 10% or 90%? If you chose the 90% then I can help you.... You see, our subconscious mind controls are influenced by beliefs, habits, emotions, values, imagination and intuition. So its not your willpower or motivation that is the missing piece of the puzzle. Its the part that is controlling 90% of your thoughts - make it easy for yourself and work on your subconscious thoughts rather than trying to willpower your way to health. 08.01.2022 Why you should never follow a diet Have you been caught up in following the latest diet? Keto, Paleo, Fasting.... It all starts off well and good. You might drop a decent amount of weight, but for how long? Studies show 95% of diets fail to maintain weight loss after five years. Imagine if you knew something had a 95 % failure rate, you might think twice before you follow it? ... The most common question I get asked around nutrition is "What diet is best to follow?" They might start off by saying "my friend had a great result on x diet..." We are all looking for that magical diet, or even that super food! And we want to see those results yesterday! I get it, nutrition can be confusing... How many calories should we be eating per day? What should we be eating for breakfast? How many meals and snacks should we be eating per day? Should we go on a low-carb diet to lose weight? Are bread, pasta and rice the devil? Even though there is no one size fits all answer, it doesn't have to be confusing. Rather than asking the questions above, start asking yourself these questions to figure out your own way of eating. Following a diet that was written for someone else's body isn't going to get you the results you want. How do I feel after eating each meal? Energetic vs tired Are you actually feeling hungry or are you feeling a certain emotion e.g boredom? What does the healthy version of you want to eat? I hope you find these questions helpful. 01.01.2022 "How I define the perfect meal..." Nutrition can often be made out to be so confusing. After all, there is conflicting evidence everyone! One study says the Keto diet is the best thing since sliced bread and another study says its bad for you.... Which study should you believe? Or did you watch a documentary on Netflix and now you think you should become a Vegan? No matter what it is you will always find evidence for something and evidence against it. How about I make it simple for you..... Ask yourself these questions when you are thinking about what meal to make: Does it make you feel good afterwards? An hour after eating that meal, do you feel like you have energy? Is this what the healthy version of you wants to be eating? Notice how these questions have nothing to do with the WHAT to eat and everything to do with the EMOTION of eating. This is a common theme I explore with clients who have trouble reaching their health and fitness goals.
