18.01.2022 Heavy tackle marlin fishing at the Ribbon Reefs this week has been a whole lot of fun on Iona 2 with Capt Adam Jordan Crewmen Troy Winsor & Josh Allwood. We got... 4 blacks in the last 3 days (3 x 120 - 150 & 1 x 300) plus a new PB for myself ~ yellowfin tuna (est 30kg) We had 2 small blacks in the spread yesterday arvo smashing the baits but unfortunately didn't get a conversion from them. Shortly after this doubleheader bite, we got the nice yellowfin, 300 & 120 blacks in a short space of time. My arms have had the best workout a Billfish Babe could ask for & WOW when the arvo bite is on, it's ON! The conditions were very sporty to say the least the whole time we were there. I'll edit a video of all the footage that I have & upload it later this week when I get the chance. Of all the 5 black marlin I've caught in the last few weeks at home & Lizard Island, not too many have been all that photogenic & conditions have been very windy. I can't speak highly enough Iona Game Fishing The boys looked after us like rock stars & it was an absolute pleasure fishing with them. Iona 2 is a seriously a marlin weapon & backs down on a fish like a fast Ferrari even in the rough seas easy as! Russell Hicks & I had a blast enjoying our Cairns heavy tackle fix with them & we look forward to bringing Brilliant Company up next year for next years season.
