13.01.2022 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: The Quays Residential Towers Docklands. The Quays Towers are located in Docklands and the building comprises a 7 storey podium from which spring two towers; the North Tower at 27 storeys high; and the South Tower at 32 storeys high. There are 617 apartments in total spread across three precincts: 96 apartments are located within the West Podium and operate under a hotel/serviced apartment operator; 246 private apartments are located within the North Tower: ...275 private apartments are located within the South Tower. Retail tenancies are located at Ground Floor level with Residents facilities located at Ground Floor level including a gym and pool, bicycle storage and waste facilities. The Residents Lounge facility is located at Level 1 including reading rooms, meeting rooms, cinema room, kitchen and dining room, and study areas. A sunken garden and tennis court is located on Level 7 for use by hotel guests and apartment owners and is accessed via lifts from all precincts. Above ground car parking for 539 cars is provided between Ground Floor and Level 6. The Quays Towers is one of the first major Construction projects awarded to Ion in 2012 by Brookfield Multiplex and in the short time since undertaking this job Ion and Multiplex have partnered in 10 other large projects successfully.



12.01.2022 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: 720 Bourke St. Docklands This project is constructed on a wedge of land adjacent to the Etihad Stadium bound by Bourke Street and Wurundjeri Way. The project comprises an architecturally significant building providing the gateway to Docklands from the Southern Cross Station. It is an 18 level commercial tower with the anchor tenant Medibank occupying 10 of the floors. The work undertaken by Ion on this project included the Medibank integrated fitout for the electrical and communications services.

11.01.2022 Project Spotlight: RACV Cape Schanck Resort. Located at Trent Jones Drive, Cape Schanck, Victoria; the redevelopment proposal integrates the existing golf, accommodation and other resort facilities on site within a new centrally located building, designed by Wood/Marsh Architects. The Redevelopment site is an irregular shape comprising approximately 7.6ha and generally includes the existing RACV clubhouse facility, car park and golf driving range. The new building will be loc...ated just south of the existing RACV clubhouse and will involve the construction of approximately 30,000m2 of new build over 5 levels with basement car parking (7 storey rise). It comprise of 120No. 4.5 star AAAT hotel rooms, dining, lounges, large scale conferencing, pro-shop, health and wellness facilities. It will also include new outdoor recreation facilities, a remodelled driving range / golf practice facilities (separate contract) and infrastructure works. Ion have been contracted to carry out the electrical and communications works.

03.01.2022 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Monash University Learning and Teaching Building. The Monash Learning and Teaching Building (LTB) comprises of a range of learning and teaching spaces (formal and informal) for University Teaching and Monash College, as well as staff accommodation and associated support facilities for the Office of the Vice-Provost Learning & Teaching (OVPLT) and the Faculty of Education. To the west of LTB, the existing bus interchange will be substantially upgraded to mee...t future demand and provide a new gateway into Clayton campus. The existing S1 car park to the east of LTB will make way for a Basement Car Park which will accommodate approximately 820 cars across 4 underground levels. Also located within the basement is the Southern Precinct Bicycle Arrival Station (SBAS) providing bicycle parking and associated amenities for students and staff. The LTB project includes substantial External Works and Landscape, including Bus Interchange, Northern Plaza & Exhibition Walk (above the Basement Car Park) . The engineering systems proposed for the development shall provide a quality solution commensurate with a high end educational development.
