21.01.2022 Maybe you’ve slightly missed racing in 2020? Lock in these proposed state championship dates for 2021. Actually, it might be best just to pencil them in at this stage...

21.01.2022 Still waiting on a final decision on Sandown for July 24-26. In the meantime, get an IPRA racing fix this Saturday with live coverage of qualifying and three races at Eastern Creek.

21.01.2022 *IMPORTANT* Dear Competitors, It is with great disappointment that we are writing to you to advise of the cancellation of the 2nd round of the Victorian State C...ircuit Racing Championships, which was to be held at Winton later this month. There were several factors contributing to this decision including the new legislation limiting event attendees, the health & wellbeing of competitors and officials, and availability of medical resources. Ultimately these could not be guaranteed leaving us with no option. Medical advice received is that the situation is expected to get worse before it improves. The Health Department expect the virus to spread and more people to be diagnosed over the next three to four weeks. A number of options were pursued in order to proceed with the event, including restructuring the event itself, but unfortunately current circumstances mean that we cannot proceed. We are terribly disappointed as we have received 200 entries and we were looking forward to a great event. Refunds will be issued to competitors who have entered this event. We are hopeful that future rounds of the championships are able to proceed. The next round is scheduled for May 16-17 at Phillip Island. We will advise the status of the event via our website, social media and email. We would like to acknowledge the assistance given to us by Motorsport Australia, Winton Motor Raceway and Ambulance Victoria. Regards Victorian State Race Series Inc

21.01.2022 Troy Lloyd's qualifying laps at Sandown on the weekend, which was enough to give him the 1st pole of the 2020 Melbourne Car Kennel IPRA Victoria Championship.

20.01.2022 A great pity that we have lost another round because of COVID. We thank the committee members of ASSA and the VSRS for all of their work to try to get us racing next month.

20.01.2022 No surprise to anyone, but a great pity nonetheless. We haven’t yet given up on Island Magic at Phillip Island in November. Stay tuned.

13.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*** To all VSCRC Competitors, It has become clear during the last week that the current government restrictions make the running of rac...e meetings impossible. We do not believe that these restrictions will be lifted in the short term. In fact, it is difficult to predict when we will be able to resume normal life. Therefore, the Executive of the VSRS Inc have decided to suspend all future rounds of the 2020 VSCRC until further notice. We do not do this lightly as our reason for existence is to run race meetings. We will monitor this ever changing situation closely and keep you all informed as soon as we can. Finally take care of yourselves and your families. Follow the government guidelines, this is the quickest way we can all get back to doing what we love. Kind Regards David Vernall Administrative Secretary VSCRC Inc

11.01.2022 We wanted to update you on the continuing possibility of IP racing in 2020. Two opportunities are being planned at present. Both of them depend on a further relaxation of the current COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria. One possibility is a non-championship round at Sandown on the weekend of November 7-8. At this stage, that would involve practice on the Friday and then IP completing qualifying and racing on either the Saturday or the Sunday. While this event is being planned a...s though it is going ahead, obviously things are far from certain at this stage. Meanwhile, PIARC has pushed ahead with planning for the 30th Island Magic on the weekend of November 28-29. There would likely be a limit (at this stage 20 cars per category, but that could change) to the size of the field to ensure numbers could be managed within COVID-19 restrictions. Again, we will need a loosening of the current Stage 4 restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne before the Island Magic meeting could go ahead. We will keep you updated as details firm up, but we wanted to let you know that there is at least a glimmer of hope of some racing this year.

11.01.2022 Entries for Friday Practice for Island Magic Pearl are now open at the Motorsport Australia event entry portal.

10.01.2022 IPRA Victoria, currently the largest IPRA family in Australia, is made up of a number of self-employed and small business owners who have families and staff to look after in these tough times. For some, IPRA Victoria is their second family. IPRA Victoria members (full/social) are encouraged to place a link to their own website or facebook page in the comments below. 10.01.2022 FROM THE NATIONAL ADMINISTRATOR It has been a challenging time for everybody and the IPRA Aus Executive Committee hopes you are coping in what has been an adver...se year for motorsport. The Executive Committee this year has had a series of video conferences to meet and work through a number of issues that have arisen. One of the key issues was to clarify the rule set around blocks, following the Motorsport Australia Eligibility Committee’s interpretation of the word derived in the current rules. The Eligibility Committee’s interpretation was quite broad and could have produced consequences that were unintended when the rules were written.....More at http://ipraaus.com.au

08.01.2022 Dear IPRA Victoria Members, Finally, we have some good news about a potential return to racing. Now we need some feedback from you. Premier Dan Andrews has today outlined the first cautious steps for Victoria to gradually remove the restrictions put in place to deal with COVID-19.... IPRA Victoria has kept in touch with Motorsport Australia and the State Championship about when we might return to racing in Victoria. At this stage, we have no firm news on dates and nothing is certain. But the good news is that the Australian Sports Sedans Association (ASSA) is actively looking at the possibility of racing Round 4 at Sandown on the weekend of July 25-26. ASSA's committee is keen to run the round if there is sufficient interest. This assumes restrictions have been lifted to the point that a race meeting can be run legally, and it would only be run if all officials and competitors could participate safely. At this early stage, they have asked us to get Expressions of Interest from IPRA Victoria members who would like to enter the round. *** Please reply to this post or the email you should receive today by this Friday, May 15 if you would like to register an Expression of Interest to race at Sandown on July 25-26. Again, we can't be sure Round 4 will go ahead but at least we have the ASSA determined to get things up and running if they can. Thanks, IPRA VIC Committee

08.01.2022 No surprises here, unfortunately. Thank you to the Victorian Mini Club and all the organisers for their work trying to get Round 5 up and running.

07.01.2022 Motorsport Australia has today released its Return to Racing strategy. 05.01.2022 Let’s hope it goes ahead. If it does, it will be a pearler.

04.01.2022 The Melbourne Car Kennel 2020 IPRA Vic season has a new point system, designed to make the championship closer across the 2020 season. Under the new system, multiple points are awarded further down the finishing results - all the way to 20th rather than 10th. This means the gap between each finishing position is effectively halved, leading to closer points totals across the season. Competitors who do more rounds will reap greater rewards. As a result, the champion in each cla...ss is more likely to be decided in the last round. The results so far can be found here: https://www.ipravic.com.au/ipravic-race-results/ For those playing along at home, theres a table below with the points available for the finishing position in each class. Rd 1 winners in O2L and U2L were Damien Milano (Picture credit: SD Pics) and Paul Grziwotz. Entries for Round 2 at Winton next month are open now.

01.01.2022 Entries are out for Round 2 of the Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship at Winton the last weekend of March. Last year, Nathan Robinson won after battling with Damien Milano much of the weekend until Damien suffered a blown engine. Adrian Taranto's Audi S4 loves it at Winton if it's wet. The Under 2 litre cars are super competitive on the tight track. IPRA NSW's Lachlan McBrien, who held pole position after qualifying last year, will be back with his E46 M3. Meanwhile,... a swag of fast cars have joined IPRA Vic this season and any number of them could be a frontrunner at Winton. The Melbourne Car Kennel 2020 season is wide open.
