24.01.2022 Came across this in our Bremer Echoes & thought I would share with all you intrepid Genealogists. From Bremer Echoes vol. 3 no 6 December 1985 written by Doreen Hayward. G is for Grandpas we all search for. E is for the Eagerness we employ... N is for the Notes we copiously copied and E is for the End we never reach. A is for the Aunt we hope can help us. L is for the Link we just can’t find. O is for the Origins that we are told of and G is for Grandma’s birthday book. Y is for the Yearning and the anguish that we each undergo from time to time. Add them all together and they mean Patience; the loving, looking, learning, and poignant kind. See more
24.01.2022 How did you celebrate Anzac Day this morning? My neighbour across from me & I stood in our front yards with the candles lit & the Australian flag. Listening to the radio for the service which I found very emotional. The 25 April 2020 will be remembered as the Anzac Day we found other ways to honour our service personal & those who came before.... LEST WE FORGET.....
23.01.2022 Another Meet & Greet afternoon date suggested is 28th March 2020 from 12 noon to 2 pm. Will confirm this date closer to the event. Look forward to meeting all who could not attend the last Meet & Greet we had in 2019 which was very well received.

17.01.2022 I hope all our members are surviving being confined to home during this time of such uncertainty. I have been trying to tidy up my genealogy table which has been rather a mess with stuff just put onto it. Over time I have lost track of what I have there, so this is an opportunity to get it all sorted. Then I will have a go at what I have saved in folders on my computer. What are you all doing during this time??? Look forward to hearing from you all.
17.01.2022 These photos were taken at the memorial which is situated at the entrance to the Dinmore Railway station. There are various memorials: one honoring the recruitment march of the "Dungaree's" which had commenced in Warwick & moved through Toowoomba, Laidley, Rosewood and Ipswich heading to Brisbane to enlist in the army during WW1. The other memorial was to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Dinmore State School, and had originally stood at the entrance to the school before it was demolished. The photos are from my private collection and were taken at the opening of this memorial in November 2015.
14.01.2022 I will miss going to the dawn service this Anzac Day as I normally attend the Ebbw Vale Dawn Service. So this year we have to change how we honour our fallen heroes by standing in our drive ways. I hope there will be people all over Ipswich doing just this. Lest We Forget
