22.01.2022 I was fortunate to attend the Changeover Dinner for Lockyer Valley Toastmasters Club last nigh in Gatton. Maurie McGuire, Area 29 Director officiated the Club Executive change-over very ably. The video shows past Western Division Director Carolyn Becker being inducted as both President and VPE for 2019-20. That is a big job Carolyn but perhaps a walk in the park after the Director role!! Congratulations to all new executive members and thank you for a very enjoyable evening!...! Carmel O'Rourke (President Ipswich Club) . See more

14.01.2022 Thank you to all the kind supporters who have liked or followed our new Facebook page. This will help move this page up so it is easier for potential guests to find us online!! I'd like to feature our club's original 'Mr and Mrs'. Bill and Marianne Steentsma are two of our six Distinguished Toastmasters at Ipswich Club and have much to teach us, having been in Toastmasters for 40 and 30 years respectively! In this photo we see them manning the Toastmasters stall at The Ipsw...ich Show earlier this year.Their expertise is vital to the club and they are generous with their time and knowledge, delivering valuable educational sessions and evaluating segments of our meetings. I say 'original' because we have recently welcomed another married couple to the club. We'll feature them very soon. Watch this space!

06.01.2022 Having an experienced mentor can mean the difference between a good speech and a great speech! When you join Toastmasters, you will be paired up with an experie...nced Toastmaster who will provide you with valuable guidance and assistance throughout the learning process. Pictured right is Kylie, with her mentor Marianne. Recently Kylie undertook her second project where she had to write a speech, receive feedback, and incorporate that feedback into a second speech. As this was Kylie's second project, she decided to consult her mentor before rewriting her second speech and the results were amazing!
05.01.2022 Ipswich Toastmasters Club has relaunched their Facebook page due to technical difficulties with the original one. This is the current and only page we will post to and receive messages. If you 'like' our new page it will soon move above and eclipse any other versions. Thank you.

01.01.2022 Do you look to the floor when you make a speech? Do you "um" and "ah" when you lose track of your thoughts? Do you clasp your hands behind you when you speak? ...These little things might be the difference between engaging or distracting your audience. At Ipswich Toastmasters, our experienced evaluators can provide you with constructive and helpful feedback that you can use to improve your next speech. Pictured right is Jim with his speech evaluator, Marianne. Marianne not only provided Jim with valuable feedback on his speech, but was able to provide some great tips that benefited all members of the meeting. Thank you Jim and Marianne!
