24.01.2022 YES, AACMA REGISTERED PRACTICES CAN REMAIN OPEN We are aware that many members are confused with the messages from the Federal and State Governments. Here are t...he facts to help you navigate around this confusing and unprecedented times. Current Facts as of 23/3/20: Chinese medicine is a registered profession and is regarded as an allied health profession by the Federal Government. Allied health is regarded as a primary health care service and thus serving as an ESSENTIAL NEED. Essential means absolutely necessary. So if patients have a bad back or even a cough it is ESSENTIAL to THEM to get treatment. Our industry falls under both PRIMARY and ESSENTIAL. Primary is a ranking. Whatever is deemed as FIRST or MORE IMPORTANT falls under primary. The World Health Organisation regards traditional medicine practices as primary care and the Australian Government regards us as allied health and therefore primary care. So, yes you can choose to stay open. https://www1.health.gov.au//NPHC-Strategic-Framework~phc-a *All information is current as of 23/03/2020. AACMA will update and inform all members and clients if and when the situations change.
