22.01.2022 The season might be over...but the grounds will again be a hive of action from Wednesday 22 - Sunday 25 October as we host the 10-12 Queensland School Sport State Championships with 21 teams from around the state coming to compete. We need your help to ensure that the grounds are ready to go - jobs include: - setting up the ball traps - setting up dugout and tech bench facilities for the grass fields... - bringing the BBQ over to the green shed - swapping grass goal boxes - general tidy of the turf dugouts - setting up COVID cleaning for fields and new benches If you could spare some time, your help will be greatly appreciated. 7am start on Sunday 18 October - the quicker we finish the sooner everyone can get home to watch Bathurst ;)

Hosting a State Championships at any time is a big ask, but throw in COVID, the end of season and the biggest championship on the 2020 QLD School Sport Calendar and you get a huge event that can not run without the commitment of our dedicated hockey community. To everyone who volunteered over the past few days to ensure that the fields were ready, the fridges were stocked, the BBQ was firing and the food was prepped we say !

07.01.2022 2020 ~Paul Mantell~ Volunteer of the Year - June Nicholls! Yesterday, June was recognised for her invaluable contribution to Ipswich Hockey, in particular her efforts as our COVID Coordinator. June was instrumental (along with our RCD, Hugh) in getting hockey back up and running for our shorter COVID competition. We wanted someone to fill the role who had a medical background and June was quick to raise her hand and begin the massive task of getting us back up and running, under a very different look 2020 return to play. Congratulations June and thank you for everything that you have done to ensure we could get back out on the pitch.

So much has been happening in and around our community and Australia - we often forget to check to see how those around us are coping with the changes and challenges of 2020 ...
