25.01.2022 Today is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. It is a time to reflect, show support, raise awareness and remember all the babies who have di...ed. Perinatal loss is more common in multiple pregnancies, with twins having approximately seven times the risk and higher-order multiples having over eighteen times the risk. 17.01.2022 Got a feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’...re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it. Amongst plenty of positive experiences and the joys of raising multiples, the multiple birth community also face challenging realities such as poorer physical and developmental health outcomes for mothers and babies. When considering the family unit, health is not just the absence of disease, but encompasses a holistic view of physical, mental and social well-being. As we head into R U OK day tomorrow on Thurs 10 September, learn more about the signs and when it's time to ask R U OK?

17.01.2022 Our history is important and our volunteers make us who we are. #MVAW2020 #bettertogether

09.01.2022 FOR FAMILIES IN THE BRISBANE AREA This event is really important for both Mums and Dads. As well as a panel of three Mental Health professionals, we have also ...arranged to have a member of Belmont Hospital staff to do activities with the children so parents can participate in this event. All attending families will receive a goodie bag with useful resources and freebies This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from the experts in the field which would otherwise cost a lot of money to link with professionals with this kind of knowledge & experience. So if you were considering going I can tell you this is an event not to miss. We know that families of multiples experience higher rates of a range of mental health issues, some of these also often leading to higher rates of divorce as well. Looking forward to seeing some new faces there, register via the link https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScIq4hUznqWYbw1B/viewform

08.01.2022 Interesting facts

08.01.2022 [ARTICLE] Since 2016, studies and case reports suggest that the concept of monozygotic and dizygotic twinning is not as simple as it seems. The traditional rules are that monochorionicity confirms monozygosity, opposite sex twins confirm dizygosity and same-sex dichorionic twins are of uncertain zygosity until postnatal zygosity testing is performed. Our patron, Prof Mark Umstad, authored this very interesting article on traditional and new models of twinning, with particula...r insights into unusual and atypical twins. ~~~ Tell us of any stories you can share on atypical or rare twins!
