Everyone is racing on the Wild West Course tomorrow with 5 laps A grade 4 B and 3 laps for C grade. Also crowding the SEQ Regional champ in A and B grade tomorrow. Wild West, it's great racing. 21.01.2022 A Tier 1 National race Sat 23rd March and the SEQ Regional Titles and final of the Wild West Series Sunday 24th are coming to Castle Hill. Timetable and who ca...n race what grade on Saturday is attached. Laps are yet to be confirmed. Both T1 and WW tracks are marked at Castle Hill. The T1 track is very similar to last years State Champs track . The Under 10 kids will use Black leg gully and we'll propably switch directions for the two days. On line entries are open. 14.01.2022 Race 5 of the Sunshine States Series roars into Kooralbyn on Sunday 22nd September. It's been a while since we had a XCO race at Kooralbyn(1 Routley Drive, Koo...ralbyn Queensland), so get ready Kooralbyn we are coming and there's trophies to be won and winners to be crown. Your 4 best results count, so there's still some battles to be fought. How good was Mt Crosby, big thanks goes out to the Kenmore Cycling club who put on another awesome weekend of racing in this series. All Mtb clubs involved in the series so far have been amazing. And on behalf of everyone who raced or watched the racing so far..... Thanks. Entry details, overalls on website. STATE CHAMPS Castle Hill 29th September. We got a month people. Time to get riding and get fast and fit for two weekends of racing in September.

13.01.2022 2019 Sunshine State Series is fast approaching. Race 1 will be at Nerang on Sunday 5th May. I'll be checking out the course this Sunday at 1pm. The Gold Coas...t Mtb Club have also locked this in as a Tier 2 race. For those not racing in the National Cup, this won't worry you but for those racing in the National Cup this is great news. MTB racing in SEQ needs club support like this. Good work. Race 2 heads to Jubilee on 2/6/19, we havn't had a XCO there for a while and it will be great to return. I still need confirmation from Toowoomba Mtb club but we are keen to get back there racing. Race 3 hits Samford on 23/6/19. All confirmed and I believe Hayden will attempt to make this a Tier 2 or 3 race. There'll be some climbing. Race 4 we head west to Adare on the 28/7/19. JP loves lifting the standards so expect something special at Adare. Race 5 and we get to race again at Mt Crosby on 11/8/19. It's been a while but I'm sure nobody forgets. Kenmore I think might get us a Tier 3 race. State champs will be back at Castle Hill on 29/9/19. When it's cooler. I've just got back from the National and Oceania Champs at Bright and there was a large number of Queenslanders being very competitive down there. So Mountain Bike Clubs of Qld, Mtb racing needs your support. We need high quality race tracks and plenty of competition. The next big race on the National Cup is at Mackay on 28th-30th June. On line entry and timetable at QldMtb website for SSS. It takes a community, everybody is welcome.

10.01.2022 Timetable for Sunday at Castle Hill. 8am U13 and U11 boys and girls on new loop for 20 mins, about 7 laps. 8.30am on short course U17 men 4 laps, Masters men 5-8, 4 laps. U15 men 3 laps and Sports men 3 laps. 9.20am ladies masters, sports ladies and U17 ladies 3 laps on short course and U15 ladies 2 laps. Then at 10.30am Elite men 6 laps, E bikes 6 laps, U19 men 5 laps, Elite woman 5 laps. Masters men 1-4 4 laps and Expert men 4 laps.... For series points, best 7 results count and you must complete 5 races. This race is being run by Ipswich Off road cycling club and Ipswich Cycling Club. We will need some help this Sunday with registration, taking down bunting btw races and some marshalling. Pls if you can help out for an hour or so that would be wonderful. There's a few challenging climbs and no shortage of rocks but there's also a lot of fun out on them trails. Go to Qld mtb website to enter on line.

I rode the track this arvo and you guys would have lo...ved it::- hard bits, fun bits and a very rewarding race track. We will attempt to find another date for Jubilee. SO NO RACING AT JUBILEE THIS SUNDAY. Those already entered will have their entry moved to next race at Jubilee. Some very exciting news about the Walloon track coming up real soon. 07.01.2022 Saturday, we'll run two volunteer/track practice sessions. Ideally, 8am until 11 for track clearing and bunting. A second session from 3-5pm if need be....and w...e'll beat the heat. There's about a dozen corners that could do with some love but not critical. There's a kids track that needs a fair bit of bunting and this will help us allow to sneak a few riders on to test the track. We ask, as always, to understand that this is Scouts land so a bunch of people descending their trails on Saturday is something they'll bill us for and probably cancel future venues over if we don't do the right thing. Especially the track work...that really gives us some brownie points with...Scouts. (See what I did there?) See more

07.01.2022 Covid Race brief 2020 Wild West Race weekend 25 th 26 th July. Qld is doing very well atm so best we keep it that way. For the race this weekend if you have flu... like symptoms, been around someone with Covid or waiting test result. Pls stay home and self-isolate. If you have come from Victoria or NSW hot spots in the last two weeks, you should be self-isolating. For those who are not racing can you please bring a piece of paper with your name and phone number. Therell be a container to put that information in. Well hold for the required period. I think we can have up to 500 people, but you will still be required to social distance. So, 1.5m apart please, as such we wont be having podiums or group hugs. The toilets will have plenty of hand sanitizer so please use. We have separated the start times to avoid crowding at the starts, race brief on line to start going as soon as possible once we have lined up for race start. Saturday XCC will be held down the back of the property, the start will be just before the Table top. At 11am the Under 10 kids will start, 10 mins on a shortened track, about 800m as Im still working on this. They will race for 10 mins plus one lap. A bell will signal the last lap and me yelling at the riders, one lap to go. At 11.30am the U15 boys will tear into the 1.1km short course track. 15 mins plus a lap. Bell and me yelling again for start of last lap. 12 midday All the ladies from U15 to Elite will start there 15 min race of fun plus one lap. 12.30pm C grade men take on the jumps and rock garden for 15 mins plus one lap. 1pm B grade men start, we will attempt to have no more than 10 riders on the track at a time. If there is more then that in any grade, we will have a knockout system and hold heats/semi as required with best 3-4 proceeding to next round. 2pm A grade start, 15 mins plus 1 laps. Points from Saturdays race count towards overall points for the Wild West Series. Yes you can enter on the day.

04.01.2022 The annual general meeting for Ipswich Offroad Cyclists will be held this weekend at JR's race track / house. All positions will be declared vacant and nominations called for the next year. If you would like to come out for a ride first we are riding the track between 2 and 4 pm ahead of the meeting. There is plenty of space to spread out in the open air for social distancing. If we get more than 10 for the AGM we'll deal with that at the time. Meeting from 5pm this Satu...rday at Walloon. There will also be pizza or burgers. Meeting in back yard, all welcome. Plenty of room. Jrs team will also be on track training from 2pm, so if you want to do a lap or two with them, your more then welcome. They won't mind being pushed!!! If you just want to do whips on the table top, that fine too. Plenty of room for everyone. So bring your bike and have some fun b4 the meeting.

02.01.2022 XC racing is back.

02.01.2022 I hope everybody is well and mostly keeping two wheels down. There is plenty of mountain bike action coming up. There's a little 3 or 5hr race at Jacks Ridge ...down near Nambucca Heads on 28th July, a fun 9-10km track. Then on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of August we are taking over Nerang for the School championships. Chris Thompson and Gold Coast Mtn bike club are working hard on some super tracks for the 3 days of racing. Then on the 11th August racing returns to Mt Crosby for round 4 of the State Series. Kenmore Cycling are very excited about being back and are attempting to produce another special weekend of racing. There's a real chance they'll have the track open for a spin on Saturday before the race. Can't thank the Mtn Bike clubs who have brought us races this year enough. So people support your local Mtn bike club, shop local and ride that bike. EVERY RIDE IS AN ADVENTURE. ps I'm stuck at work, sitting on the side of the Hwy when Tony? I think, on his flash Trek road bike stops and wants a photo, he's just off doing 150km today. So now I'm just dreaming of riding. So go on, get out there and ride, put photos up and enjoy it.
