20.01.2022 PASTURE FED STEERS HIT 345 C/KG AT MORETON Agents Boyd OBrien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 1096 head of cattle at Moreton on Tuesday. Vealers & yearlings sold firm on last weeks very strong rates. A larger number of feeder steers came to hand and sold to a very enthusiastic panel of buyers. Cows & ox sold very well as did all grain assist & accredited cattle. Backgrounders maintained their rates as the dry weather continues the demand is getting less & less
20.01.2022 Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has assured growers they can maintain a seasonal workforce while meeting their COVID-19 public health obligations. Any seasonal worker coming to Queensland would need a border pass and details of: 1. Where they had been for the previous two weeks... written confirmation of a job in Queensland and where they planned to reside. 2. If they have come from a declared COVID-19 hotspot, they must also self-quarantine for 14 days at their own or employers expense before starting their employment. 19.01.2022 Members Market Report Feeder Steers Hit 309.2 c/kg at Moreton Agents Boyd OBrien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 1379 at Moreton on Tuesday. As cattle numbers continue to flood saleyards, lesser condition and lesser quality lines are selling to a much easier market. The market remained firm for quality lines of feeder steers. An outstanding line up of export bulls came to hand and sold very well. Cows were easier.
19.01.2022 Members Market Update Cows Hit 280.2 c/kg at Moreton Agents Boyd OBrien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 475 head of cattle at Moreton on Tuesday. The market improved across the board for all descriptions. Yearlings and vealers sold to a very competitive market as did pens of quality backgrounder steers & heifers. A good selection of grain assist and grain accredited trade came to hand and sold well. Feeder steers & heifers were in short supply, selling to dearer rates than last week. Cows sold very well.

17.01.2022 Agents Boyd OBrien & Bartholomew reported a yarding of 1076 head of cattle at Moreton today. With Christmas quickly approaching and the dry weather continuing, the market was much in line with last weeks rates. Lines of feeders were slightly easier but met vendors expectations. The better end of the export sold to a more buoyant market as did quality grain trade. Plainer condition drought-affected cattle have eased considerably creating a fine opportunity to astute purchasers. Heavy bulls are selling well.

10.01.2022 PASTURE STEERS HIT 313.2 C/KG AT MORETON Agents Boyd OBrien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 1652 head of cattle at Moreton on Tuesday. The cow market was very firm especially for the lessor condition cows and 4 & 6 tooth heifers. Vealers & yearlings were firm for the top end with the bottom end selling to a cheaper market. Heavy feeder steers were in short supply with back grounders selling well on the day. As the dry weather continues large numbers are rolling in creating a great opportunity for the astute purchaser.

08.01.2022 Backgrounding Steers Hit 397.2 c/kg Agents Boyd OBrien & Bartholomew reported a yarding of 587 head of cattle at Moreton Saleyards. The market remained firm for all export and heavy grain assisted trade. Suitable heavy feeders sold firm to slightly dearer, quality back grounder and weaner steers/heifers sold to a very hot market selling way above vendors expectations.

05.01.2022 COWS HIT 213.2 C/KG AT MORETON ON TUESDAY Agents Boyd OBrien & Bartholomew reported a yarding of 1082 head of cattle at Moreton today for the last sale of 2019. The market continued to ease for most descriptions as the dry weather continues, as do the large numbers. A large number of calves came to hand and sold to a lightly easier market. Cows were in large supply and sold to an easier market. Good quality trade sold well on the day. The first sales for 2020 will be on Tuesday 7th January.
