21.01.2022 Today is Allied Health Professionals Day 2020, and what a year 2020 has been for us and our allied health colleagues! It is such a privilege to work in allied health every year, but especially this year as it has reinforced just how valuable our work can be to a community. We will all make sure to take a moment to celebrate this special day today.

20.01.2022 Our clinic is all set to go for a busy Speech Pathology Week 2019! Do your kids love colouring in? We have set up a station where they can sit and complete a themed colouring in sheet which will be displayed at our front desk, and all children will receive a small prize for their participation. We can't wait to see our front desk decorated with beautiful artwork by the end of the week! Stay tuned for an 'after' photo!

13.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE! Here at the Ipswich Speech Pathology Clinic, it’s business as usual. We are busy planning sessions for our clients to ensure they receive the best care and attention. We are also busy making sure we manage hygiene closely with more frequent wiping down of common areas, increasing the availability of sanitiser and reorganising the waiting room to enable families to opt for social distancing. ... If you are unsure whether to attend your appointment, please call us to discuss your concerns. We are currently investigating alternative options for delivering speech therapy if the situation demands. Take care, keep well and we look forward to continuing to support you and your family members.

07.01.2022 Communicating with Confidence in Ipswich is the priority! There are 1.2 million Australians with communication disability. 06.01.2022 Some of the lovely art work that has been displayed at our front desk this week for Speech Pathology Week 2019 Can you spot your child’s colouring sheet?

05.01.2022 Hello to our followers! We have had a very busy few months and it has been a while since our last post, so we thought we'd let our community know of some exciting things that have been happening at ISPC. Firstly, our Speech Pathologist Alana and her husband welcomed a beautiful baby girl in February. Lucy is now 6 months old and thriving (how time flies!?). Alana has recently returned to work part time, and her current hours are 8am-3pm on Saturdays at our Ipswich clinic and ...8am-4pm every second Friday at our Gatton clinic. Secondly, a few of our staff members have some exciting Professional Development opportunities coming up! Emma will be commencing Speech Pathology's stuttering webinar series coming soon, and many of our other Speech Pathologists will be taking advantage of many online PD courses also being run by Speech Pathology Australia. In addition, our team will be welcoming Occupational Therapist Sarah Broderick from Connected Children to our clinic next month to run a PD for our staff on working together with challenging behaviours. We are all looking forward to learning from another discipline and 'adding some tools to our kits'. Last but certainly not least, Ipswich Speech Pathology is continuing to offer Telehealth services to our clients who wish to access their therapy in this way during COVID-19, especially given the recent cluster in Queensland. For our face-to-face clients, we are continuing to practice social distancing wherever possible and are adhering to strict cleaning and sanitising protocols between sessions to keep our clinic clean and germ-free. We are also encouraging our clients and families to reschedule their sessions if they are feeling unwell. It has certainly been a big year for everybody, but we can and we will make it through to the other side. As Barack Obama once said, "Yes We Can".

04.01.2022 Ipswich Speech Pathology is now able to offer Telehealth services! Have you heard of Telehealth but you’re not quite sure what it entails or how it might work for you or your child? Don’t stress! We can offer a free 10 minute trial before your first online appointment so that we can help you to get things up and running. Our Speech Pathologists are still available to deliver face-to-face therapy in the clinic at this time and will continue to do so for as long as we are permitted, but we are pleased to be able to offer alternative options including Telehealth, phone consultations and/or home programs to families who would prefer to stay home at the moment.

04.01.2022 Did you know that today is Swallowing Awareness Day? If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulties with feeding or swallowing please give us a call - we’d love to help!

04.01.2022 Today our Speech Pathologist Georgia received this lovely certificate from Springfield Central State High School to say thanks for supporting one of their year 10 work experience students back in June. It was an absolute pleasure to open our doors and show the ropes to a future speechie for the week!
