18.01.2022 Good morning! We are available all day today. If your bored, come say hello and see what we have.

18.01.2022 For those who are interested in what type of soil mix that we've chosen for our boat project we have gone with the following mix - 2 parts premium potting mix 1 part coarse river sand And we have chosen to mix some perlite in to the mix at approx 1 part.... The reason we chose premium potting mix over garden soil is that in past experiences garden soil can sometimes contain a lot of contamination in the form of weed seeds the likes of nut grass and those hard to get rid of nasties. For those who don't know, the perlite is the white, foamy looking pieces in the photo. The perlite helps loosen and aerate the soil mix allowing for good root growth. We use coarse sand as this allows for good drainage in the soil. If you use beach sand or bedding sand it will tend to clump together and hold the moisture which is not good for our succulent friends. We will add some slow release fertiliser to the mix at the end but it won't be a lot as most succulents don't need too much. We obviously sourced these supplies from our local landscape yard as the cost of filling the boat with ready to go mix would have been terribly expensive. I hope that is a little informative and helps anyone out who may be considering taking on a larger project.

17.01.2022 Now the paint is dry, we're looking for a name for our boat. It will be the main feature in a succulent garden beneath a bottle tree named 'Cooper'. If you hav...e a good idea for a name please put it in the comments. If we choose your suggestion, you will win a $20 Voucher to use towards your next purchase at Ipswich Plants & Succulents. Entries will be open for 2 weeks. Feel free to share or tag people you think may have what it takes to name our boat. Looking forward to reading your suggestions

07.01.2022 Did you know? All of our succulents that are available for purchase are grown right here at Ipswich Plants and Succulents in Flinders View. We have been growing succulents and adding to our collection for almost 13 years. We dedicate quite a few hours every day tending to and inspecting all of our plants. ... Everything we offer for sale is of the highest quality. We also use a high quality succulent soil mix for all our arrangements. They are pest and disease free and if it isn't something we wouldn't buy ourselves, then we wouldn't offer it for sale to somebody else. We pride ourselves on this as we often sadly see so many very overpriced, poor quality, sun damaged, diseased, unrooted cuttings that have been stuck in some dirt being sold at many different places. All of our unique ceremic and pottery items are created and put together with great care and we try and make them as affordable as possible. We love to share our passion and hobby with everyone who visits us. Opened all Day Saturday 28th Nov from 7.30am to 5pm. Also available Friday by appointment only. Pm for more info. Cheers Phil and Christine
