25.01.2022 Good afternoon Unitingkids families. I have been trying to get hand sanitiser for cleaning our hands. Without success. Please remember to bring some wipes from home.... We do have a small amount for use but it will not last. I have ordered some. This could take a while to come. If you see any in the shop can you get it for me. I will give you the money. Look forward to seeing everyone on Friday. Enjoy the rain and cooler weather. See more
25.01.2022 Good evening. Its been a long time since I last posted. Sorry about that. There is still no advance on opening up the hall for Unitingkids , however when we do I will let you know. I hope you are all keeping well.... There will be a huge change to what we do at Unitingkids to keep us all safe. Please understand we are putting in place and following the advice we get from those who know better than us. In the meantime you may like to come and grab some bargains at out NewLife Opshop. This is near the church on Limestone Street. It is open Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 - 2:30. First day back tomorrow. Keep in touch with each other and we will get back to Unitingkids soon we hope. Rhonnie. See more

18.01.2022 I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. Because he inclined his ear to me (Psalm 116:12, NRSV) As a husband sometimes I am guil...ty of trying to fix a problem rather than just listening to my wife. She just wants to be heard. At times like that I am not really listening. I think the same is true, not just for married couples, but for all of us at times. We are in trouble, or sad, or lost, we have an idea, a fear, or some good news and we want someone to hear it. Psalm 116 begins by saying I love God, because God hears me and God not just listening but inclining (bending down or coming near) to listen. The story of the Exodus begins with God saying Then the Lord said, I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry , and I have come down (Exodus 3:78, NRSV) We all long to be heard, to be noticed and to be understood. If no one else is listening, God is. God hears you. God knows you. Even the hairs of your head are all counted.(Matt 10:30) Indeed the story of Jesus is a story that tells us God is so committed to hearing us that God became one of us, even dying as we do. Now the story of Jesus, like psalm 116 is also about how God saves us. We can not do anything with the same quality or depth that Jesus did, but we are also called to listen, to recognise and hear every person as he did. If we are heard, recognised, and loved we should do the same for others. Lord, we thank you that you hear us, you understand us, you get us and you love us. We love you for that and for so much more. Help us to listen to others, and so really recognise them and their situation.

14.01.2022 Good afternoon Unitingkids families. With regret we have been advised to close down Unitingkids until further notice. This advice is given to us to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Please continue to be mindful of each other.... Phone , make contact and maybe a play date at your local park. I will endeavour to keep in touch with you all and let you know when we will start again. Soon we hope. Please let us know how you are going. This isnt what we wanted but has to be done. Look after your neighbours and friend. If their is anything you need, even just a chat then contact me on Facebook messenger. God bless Unitingkids helpers & Rhonnie.

03.01.2022 When a mother says she's tired, that's all she meant! She did not say she wants to drop her son and forget that he or she exists. When a mother says she wanted ...some time alone, just her, that's all she meant! She didn't say she's sorry to be a mother and that motherhood was a mistake in her life. When a mother says she needs help to get things done, that's exactly what she meant! She is not saying that she is incapable. When a mother makes noodles for dinner, it does not mean she does noodles every day of the week and that her son/daughter is a child who does not know vegetables and meats. When you arrive at a mother's house and face disorganization, it doesn't mean that every day that house is disorganized. When a mother says she'd love to go out with her friends, that's all she meant! She doesn't want to go back to being "Single / not a mother" and like it as if she had no responsibility. When a mother says she's worried and afraid, that's what she meant! She didn't say she's going to falter, and much less she's a coward. When you listen to a mother screaming, it doesn't mean she just screams, probably she has spoken 300 times with normal voice tone. When you see a nervous mother, on the edge of madness, doesn't mean every day she's in that situation. There is a whole context, a whole situation. Do not invent untruths to judge someone, let alone a woman who every day, at all times, gives up her own life to live the life of another being that she knows is much more important than her. In the world there is no human being able to give up and donate as much as a mother! And they deserve a lot of understanding and fewer trials. Credit: unknown
