02.01.2022 Thanks for the nice words; humbling. But coaches don't make players - players make players. There have been so many players with so much natural talent that I have seen over the years but have wasted it. It is those that have to work hard at developing the talent that they have that tend to be successful. The lads learnt a few lessons along the 2018 Bill Turner Cup pathway; respect but never fear an opponent, the training ground is where success begins and the game is not ove...r until the referee blows the final whistle. The opportunities that all these lads have had combine to be an investment in their development. Learning how to deal with injuries and not being able to play, learning how to come back from injuries and earning your way back into the team, learning to be respectful of the player that sits out of the game because you are playing ahead of them. Lessons that not only are applicable to the game but transcend into their adult tertiary and business worlds. See more
01.01.2022 Nathan and Tyler are raising money to help pay for their trip with their Kemps Creek United team to play in 3 tournaments in the USA. The trip costs $6500 per player. They are conducting a Football-athon whereby they will play a 5-aside game for 12 hours. Some former IQ Football players have suggested that we use this day as a Re-Union for past players, their families and their Mums & Dad's. It would be brilliant to catch up with as many of you as possible. To hear the storie...s that made me smile, to hear the stories that I possibly didn't know about and to remember those that are no longer with us would be good. If you are able to come, bring your boots as we may get a game going of our own or you may wish to tag one of the players to give them a rest. If you are unable to attend and would like to contribute to Nathan and Tyler's Fundraising efforts, please message me and I will send them to you. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and please put your name in the description so that the lads can reach out to you to express their thanks. I hope that as many as possible can make it. Arrange groups to come in perhaps. I'd love to see Ivers, Minol, Fotho and Leigh Wardell there to see if they remember the men and women they will see in the boys and girls they used to know. Thanks again to everyone who is able to help Nate and TJ.
