25.01.2022 This time last year, we were reporting on events at the Asia Pacific Irish Business Forum, where we connected with our fellow Chambers in the region, including the Irish Chamber of Commerce Singapore. A year on, and what a year it's been, we can't gather in person but thanks to some great work by Pat Bourne, Kate Simpson and Benita Meagher we are able to offer our members access to a fantastic "Evening with An Taoiseach" where we can gather virtually and hear insights from Micheál Martin. Registrations close tomorrow evening so to make sure you have access to Friday's event, register as soon as possible via https://irishchambersg.glueup.com//an-evening-with-an-tao/ to avoid disappointment.

24.01.2022 One of the questions we are asked quite regularly from younger prospective members is, if I'm not a business owner or C-Level, can I still be part of the Chamber? Well, the simple answer is yes, but more importantly, there's lots of opportunity for you, particularly around our programs, and you can join up quickly and securely via https://www.irishchamber.com.au/finding-the-right-membershi But don't just take our word for it, hear about what's possible from one of our young... members, Aisling Vance. Aisling is a long-standing member of the Chamber who works as a High-Performance Coach and Therapist. Her business focuses on the application of Neuro-Psychology and Neuro-Science to provide female executives with coaching and training courses designed specifically for women, to achieve the success they desire. Aisling has no doubt that her involvement with the Chamber over the last 10 years has been critical in her success - and to say thank you and give back to the Chamber community, she is offering a 50% discount for all members using the code IACC50 on her website at https://www.highheelhustlers.com/IACC-specials Take it away Aisling...

With several groups now up and running all across Australia, we are gearing up for our next intake in Ireland, and are excited to be able to bring Mairead and Terry Fleming, who will chair... in Ireland, together for an online event next week, discussing their personal journeys and how "Emerald 2.0" will make a difference for women all across Ireland in 2021. 15.01.2022 When times are tough, a strong support network is more important than ever, and women supporting women is one of the most powerful of all networks. With the very challenging circumstances that COVID-19 continues to present in Ireland, we felt it was important to ensure that as many of our Irish-based female members as possible could avail of the support delivered through the Emerald Leadership Program. As a result, we have extended the deadline for applications for another tw...o weeks, to give more of the community a chance to access that support network. If you're an Irish-based female, or know someone who could benefit from being part of the network, we'd love to hear from you. Details and application forms are available online at https://www.australianchamber.ie/emerald Please share this post with your Irish-based friends, and help us spread the word, so that we can help more of our Irish Australian community through the challenges of the coming months.

14.01.2022 32 formidable women, one for each county in Ireland, (and their butler) gathered online tonight to meet each other at the start of the group sessions for the next intake of the Emerald Leadership Program. 14.01.2022 Very rewarding to see the various Kindred Networks groups being assembled through the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce start to take shape as we work through the final follow ups with some of our applicants. The level of diversity and capability across regions and sectors is remarkable. Its hard to pick one group as more promising than the other but the groups of Business Owners, the Technology and the Construction groups, in particular, caught our eye. ... These online communities will be a great support for participants now, at a challenging time, but possibly even more exciting is the amazing future potential. We hope all those taking part will seize the opportunity with both hands. If you missed the application deadline for this intake but want to be considered for the next one, you can find out more at https://www.irishchamber.com.au/kindred-networks

09.01.2022 We had a great conversation today with Sally Ann McDonald on how this award-winning consultancy has created an innovative methodology to allow surveying to proceed, in the age of COVID-19, that fully integrates with their bespoke technology. Why is that important? Well, it's on the critical path before construction can proceed, so by being creative, McDonald Surveys have managed to get a major rail project phase underway and get lots of contractors working. Getting the proj...ect moving was important to those many businesses - and to the main contractor and customer and those future users. That's playing your part for your industry in action. Well done SA and apologies for the moving focus in the introduction from our CEO - some would say that's a good thing!

04.01.2022 Some of us, of a certain age, will remember the reaction in living rooms all across Ireland to Riverdance debuting during the interval of the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest.
