24.01.2022 I'm looking for a handful of people who have experience in the Jabiru (160 or 170), to assist in continued development of the product. Must have MSFS and some time to spare, not necessary to have the product as it'll be supplied. Please drop a message via the send message widget above. :)

24.01.2022 Just going to leave this here. :)

21.01.2022 Some days, things don't work. :D

19.01.2022 We're proud to announce that IRIS Simulations is now a Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace Partner! As such, expect to see the new Jabiru product available within Microsoft Flight Simulator's Marketplace on launch. More details as we get them! And no ETA as yet. ;)

19.01.2022 For those wanting to add me as a friend in MSFS, my gamertag is IRISFLTSIM :) I'm normally flying around the Sale/East Gippsland Area in Australia.

18.01.2022 Fans of Bel Geode should keep an eye out...something rather..um...purple, is coming this way. :D

17.01.2022 Coming to the end of Alpha stage.. :) Now the 170C and D come with different avionics... personally I prefer the J170C instruments over the more modern glass cockpit.

17.01.2022 1.5hrs to go! :D

15.01.2022 Would anyone be interested in a Jabiru training package separate to the product? Probably only about a 10 USD cost, but a more interactive Jabiru experience. Noting that it is not official training, does not constitute any official training, always listen to your real flight instructor if flying the actual aircraft, etc.

13.01.2022 I'm a fan of Drew 'aka Bel Geode' and felt it was a nice thing to give him a plane slower than a tomcat to drive. :) Pimped ride indeed. :D (edited to fix up the a/c rego!)

13.01.2022 Want to chat to us? I'm sitting in Novawing24's Twitch stream tonight! Come and visit for his birthday! https://www.twitch.tv/novawing24

13.01.2022 For those interested in the 'fiction' surrounding the F/A-39 Vampire, I based a lot of my thoughts from this book I read many years ago.... https://www.amazon.com/Angel-Seven-jet-fuelled//1909269751 Think a hypersonic, laser equipped aircraft designed to destroy nuclear missiles anywhere on the planet in the boost stage... :D classic fiction lol.

11.01.2022 Now available: IRIS Aviator Series - Jabiru J160/J170 v1.4 The Orbx/Simmarket stores will be updated later today once we've confirmed no major issues on the IRIS Storefront files. Changelog: https://store.irissimulations.com.au/jabiru-j160-j170-chan/... ~DLB.

11.01.2022 So proud to be part of an awesome partnership with SoFly Sim, using their superb Weather Preset Pro elements to really bring to life the new Australian Bush Trips as part of our Jabiru J160/J170 package for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Read more: https://cstu.io/e5c848

11.01.2022 First Bushtrip, West Sale (YWSL) to Great Lakes (YGRL).. ;)

10.01.2022 This one is for two of my colleagues at work. ;) Jabiru J-160 24-5034 passing RAAF Base East Sale for Seaspray. :)

09.01.2022 Wondering where our new Tropical North Bush Trip will take you? Far and wide, thats for sure! About four times as long in flight time than the Gippsland Lakes Tour, the Tropical North Tour is a real test of endurance! Channel your inner athlete by flying in the custom paintscheme of Novawing24, a Queensland native, prominent Australian streamer, flightsim fan and triathlete! (and friend of IRIS!) This tour will take you from the home of Jabiru Aircraft (and Bundy Rum!) in... Bundaberg, out west to the stunning Carnarvon Gorge located in the Central Highlands Region, then deep into the Outback of Queensland as far west as Longreach, home of QANTAS. Finally finishing northeast towards the Whitsunday Islands for some stunning scenery at dusk. The route has been picked to really showcase the variety of the Australian country, from its sandy beaches to the dry arid outback and lush forests of its national parks! Certainly a value add to the Jabiru product, coming free to owners of the J160/J170 for Microsoft Flight Simulator later in November. ~DLB.

09.01.2022 Apologies to the Alpha testers of the Jabiru product for MSFS, simply ran out of time today and had some gremlins that just wouldn't quit. I appreciate that you want to get to giving feedback, however I want to make sure you have a good stable build to work from. :) So here's a couple of images instead. Now with PBR inside and out! Looks swish!

08.01.2022 And this is what happens when bing maps puts a slab of terrain in the middle of your grass strip!

08.01.2022 Busy debugging the flight model and autopilot in the sim. Loving the in-sim toolset for developers. :)

08.01.2022 Someone was following me today. :)

08.01.2022 Fancy a Bush Trip? The Jabiru product will now come with four Bushtrips to choose from to showcase our great country. ;) Gippsland Lakes Tour (Lilydale to Gabo Island via the Gippsland Lakes, home of IRIS Simulations.)... Tropical North Delivery (Bundaberg to Hamilton Island via the Sunshine Coast, home of Jabiru Aircraft.) Red Center (Alice Springs to Ayres Rock Airport via Kings Canyon & Ularu) Flinders Ranges Tour (Port Augusta to William Creek via Flinders Ranges & Lake Eyre).

08.01.2022 A last minute addition... I was missing a UK rego from the list. ;)

08.01.2022 Flying over Gran Canaria... ;) Testing autopilot functions and getting thrown around from the turbulance generated by those ridges..

07.01.2022 A little something something.... ;)

07.01.2022 Jabiru...Australia's most popular aircraft...lol. :D

06.01.2022 As the Jabiru product nears submission to Microsoft, here's the two airframes (J160 and J170) with all the liveries (8 per aircraft.) Coming sooner rather than later!

06.01.2022 More work this week, ready for a new build to the testing team soon. :) Now with updated EFIS, improved autopilot functions, improved flight modelling which now meets the Jabiru specifications and flight data sheet. :) Happy days. Image below is en-route to Mildura in Australia. :)

05.01.2022 Looking for someone to produce some promotional imagery for IRIS products in the MSFS marketplace as a paid contract. Please Message us with some image examples you've produced in sim if you're interested.

05.01.2022 This seems like an accident waiting to happen!

04.01.2022 Want to convert IRIS content from FSX/P3D to MSFS? We wholeheartedly encourage flightsim modding, and Microsoft Flight Simulator brings a wide variety of new cool content to content production, from new modelling formats, flight models, PBR textures, gauges and audio content. Here at IRIS, we're picking a select few legacy products to improve and publish on this fantastic new platform. We do ask that you provide us the opportunity to excel with this new platform prior to a...ttempting to modding our content from FSX/P3D to MSFS, so that none of your time is wasted. We'll happily let you know what we're working on or not. If you DO want to try your hand at porting our FSX/P3D content to MSFS by modding our content privately, providing you don't give the files to anyone, we encourage the sharing of pictures, videos etc. and let us know what you're working on, we'd LOVE to see it! (We may even be able to offer a helping hand in certain circumstances!) We're still working on our EULA in regards to this new simulation platform, so please bear with us.

03.01.2022 Seriously...the AI had one job! :(

03.01.2022 At long last, the IRIS Jabiru v1.4 coming this weekend! Featuring a significant re-write of the aircraft flight model based on developer flight training time. :) (Milage may vary!) Update includes improved VR interaction, improved autopilot functions and AI pilot stability, along with many more Qualify of Life upgrades.... A full changelog will be posted when we're ready to go. :)

03.01.2022 Seriously...get a copy.. :) I'm about to! Truly stunning work by Otmar over at Wing42.

03.01.2022 Coming Christmas 2020!

02.01.2022 Just over 10 years ago the first IRIS facebook image. :) Seems a lifetime.

01.01.2022 Would you like us to make a Bush Trip (with a default aircraft) for the new US update? If so, where abouts?

01.01.2022 OMG, they finally fixed the trees!!!!! RAAF Base East Sale is about five years out of date, but they fixed the tree size! Flying over East Sale, VIC, AU..my home town!

01.01.2022 The second of our 'Bush Trips' has been completed and will come out with Version 1.3 of the Jabiru product, due on or before Dec 1st. We're exceptionally proud to partner with SoFly Sim and provide two of their wonderful weather schemes from the Weather Preset Pro package as part of this new update. The two weather presets will provide custom weather conditions suited to the areas we fly as part of the Bush Trips, providing a uniquely Australian themed tour in both Victoria... and Central Queensland. Furthermore, we're always happy to support Streamer, Ironman and Australian media dude Novawing24, with his custom J170-D paintscheme being integral to the Bush Trip experience. Other media reviewers have also received custom invites for paintschemes, including Rachel @ AvAngel, and Scoobs from Scoobs Gaming. Looking forward to dropping this new update in the coming week! ~DLB.
