21.01.2022 I am currently taking bookings from clients who would like their own or their childrens eyes checked so they are ready to start the new school year. This sensitivity to light causes difficulties with reading, comprehension, handwriting, copying, concentrating and headaches.

16.01.2022 2021 has started. After a break I am seeing Irlen clients again. I will be at the Cotters market with my husband on our book stall tomorrow. As always I will have my Irlen brochures with me and I am always happy to have a chat.

08.01.2022 I will have my Irlen brochures with me tomorrow at the Cotters market if any one would like to come passed for a chat. I want to share what the mother of a recent client shared when she brought her daughter in for me to check the tint colour of her lenses. Her daughter has been wearing Irlen lenses for four years and her parents are delighted with the improvement in her school grades. The mother went on to say that the first noticeable improvement had been in her daughter's behaviour. She went from a difficult demanding child to a happy little girl who was a delight to have around. Interestingly, she added that even now if her daughter does not wear her glasses for four or five hours they will know from the deterioration in her behaviour. Even the daughter said she can feel it happening and knows she must put on her glasses.

08.01.2022 Although I have been doing this for twenty years I am never totally prepared for the comments from clients when they return for a colour check after several years. Earlier this week, a client in her late thirties returned and in the process of checking the tint she shared her story. Prior to her first Irlen filters she had suffered from severe migraines to where she would need to be taken to hospital to stop the vomiting. As a mother of four children you can imagine how hard ...that would be. Since wearing her Irlen filters that had not happened as she had not experienced a severe migraine in four years. Someone else had told me a similar story but I was not prepared for what she told me next. On the odd occasion when she forgot to put her glasses on and she started to feel the beginning of a migraine, instead of taking 4 tablets which she had had to do before, all she needed to do was put on her Irlen glasses and the migraine would completely go away. When I hear these results I feel even more determined to share this information about light sensitivity and how it can affect lives.

06.01.2022 Every year I see a number of Irlen clients who tell me they are on the spectrum.. I like Helen Irlen's approach to Autism. She stresses in her book 'The Irlen Revolution' that 'The Irlen method is not a cure for autism but it is an effective solution for reducing perceptual sensory overload, thus reducing some of the challenges these individuals face.'
