23.01.2022 Most are simply too busy eating grass to smile for the camera... but I found a few. I love a good ride on mower session as much as the next person, but it is just so satisfying sitting under the tree watching them enjoy grass again.

22.01.2022 Anyone for some Vegemite... yep, alas the name seems to have stuck. this is our little Vegemite

18.01.2022 Just too hot...too dry.... but no smoke so we have that to be grateful for. Pacas are under the trees attempting to stay cool.

17.01.2022 We enjoyed beautiful weather on Saturday and again yesterday at the Hawkesbury Show, celebrating 25 years of alpacas at the Show. Saturday was show day, yesterday more of a meet and greet experience for the public. We were very happy with our overall results. In our led in classes, Electric Blue & Hera both came 1st in their classes, with Hera then being awarded Reserve Champion Mature Female.... Hera again did well in the fleece, awarded a 1st in class and then Champion Mature Fleece. We were excited by our other fleece results with 9 of our 11 entries placing 1st or 2nd. All alpacas now very happy to be back in the paddocks

16.01.2022 Happy Good Friday!

14.01.2022 Illusions’ first day out. He’s at Hawkesbury Show and really not sure what’s going on

09.01.2022 Alas, par for the course at the moment... filling up the shed with hay!!!

09.01.2022 Classic country homestead on approx 10 acres, Kurrajong NSW, fully set-up for alpacas, would also suit horses/donkeys etc. Fully fenced, large 4 bay barn, shelt...ers in every paddock and a huge spring fed dam and irrigation throughout the property - you will never run out of water for your animals! Private and quiet. Far enough away from Sydney but close enough if you feel the need to venture into the city. An ideal lifestyle property See more

08.01.2022 We’ve had a few cold nights since shearing but looking at the forecast here for next 7 days they’ll be glad their fleece is off! (Love some rain please) Check out Vegemite’s before and after shot ...those ears!!!

07.01.2022 What a fantastic day for promoting Alpacas with the National Simultaneous Storytime reading of Alpacas with Maracas The team at Penrith Library all dressed up! We took three alpacas for the children to meet - Illusion, Hera and her cria Sonic. Below is Hera posing with her new alpacas friends.

05.01.2022 Honey For Sale: We were going to enter the Royal Easter Show for the first time this year... so in honour of missing out on that fun (courtesy of a damn, micros...copic virus) we may as well sell what we were going to show. If you would like some honey (100% local, etc, etc) from one of hives, let Fi or me know. $15/kg in jars or tubs (minimum 500gm jars up to 3kg+ tubs) 500gm squeeze containers are $10ea (and these can be posted at cost - https://auspost.com.au/flat-rate-sending) And in the age of the introvert (ie me, ie social distancing) we can leave it at our front gate and you can swing past and pick it up - or post it (I think 2-3 squeeze bottles can go in a small box. EDIT: Pretty boring post with out the pics... so here are some, of the good stuff undergoing the only purification we put it through (which is filtering at room temperature) It is mesmerising to watch though. Just takes out any wax and pollen bits. And in case you didn't know we try and keep the honey separate from each of the hives. So you will get a jar with the name of the hive on it. Currently we have honey from the: "Mulberry Mob" - pictured (aqua/white hive), "Callistemon Crew" pictured (bottlebrush flowers on front), "The Flats", "Honey Bee Hive" pictured (Yellow/Black). "Regal House", "Hercules Hive" and "Mulberry Too" (two) will be in action in early Spring.

03.01.2022 Pacas are happily munching down the back lawn for us - they get grass, we get lawn - win win. Just so nice to see green!
