23.01.2022 Ironbark Gully runs through Whipstick Ward which has 13 candidates contesting the Council elections. You’ll be voting between October 6th and 23rd. Not sure who to vote for? Neither were we. So, Ironbark Gully Friends emailed each councillor asking them to phone or email us about their support for Ironbark Gully Shared Train and Concept Plan. It was amazing. Ten candidates got back to us!!!!! With a phone call, or asked to come to our meeting, or had a walk-through visit of the Gully. Nine have provided a written statement of support. Read their responses here before you decide how you will vote. https://drive.google.com//1qaHCWynbJOOp7oeNd39CJKQOj/view

14.01.2022 This is an urgent request for anyone who is free early this week and confident about helping with chemical weed spraying at our Victoria St planting, under supervision of Damien, the new COGB ranger. Send us an email [email protected] or a message here or contact us on 0438889834. The long-term goal is to eradicate noxious weeds so the area won't need a massive cleanup each Spring and the need to use chemicals on an ongoing basis will be reduced greatly. Damien h...as been doing a terrific weed control effort since Summer began . He's whipper-snipped the weeds for the entire area and carried out some weed spraying. Despite having access to resources he must operate with time constraints and lack of staff availability. Weed control on the Victoria St site is an ongoing management issue and for it to be effective will require the involvement of group volunteers under supervision of the COGB ranger. See more
