Our newly built house is a modern large two bedroom, two bathroom bush retreat tastefully furnished to suit anyone, with two generous verandahs to take in all aspects of the property.... There are over 25km of marked walking/mountain bike trails, 6 dams, seasonal creeks and stunning views. 15.01.2022 INTRODUCING OUR NEW STAY AND RIDE PACKAGES: Intro to Horses - which is designed for introducing novices to what's involved in purchasing/caring for and safe handling of horses with three 2 hour sessions of hands-on theory, basic riding lessons and a trail ride. Horse Mad - is for those who just want to ride, ride, ride... with three 2 hour trail rides.... Package includes 2 nights luxury accommodation at Ironbark House and 3 two hour riding/training sessions. Starting at $552/person (family group of 4). We can add extra rides, wildlife tours or nights stay for an additional charge. We set off at dawn for a 2 hour ride ($149/person) to capture the magic of the mist rising and the wildlife stirring for all those of you missing a bit of winter chill! Ideally suited to early risers, insomniacs and in-house guests. As usual all rides are private guided rides tailored to suit any ability with a maximum of 4 guests (depending on experience)... 02.01.2022 Here is a selection of some of the birds found on our property .... sorry but I'm not the worlds best photographer, but will give you an idea of what you might expect to see and what an experienced photographer might be able to improve on. #birdwatchers Ironbark House Dimbulah is a boutique two bedroom holiday house hidden in the middle of our 1345 acre wildlife and cattle property, set high on a ridge over looking the wilderness with views to die for! We also offer exclusive... guided birding, wildlife and farm tours with Kevin who has over 20 years of guiding experience and private outback horse riding tours on our well behaved horses (or byo horse). These are available to non house guests also. Ironbark has over 30km of marked trails which you are welcome to use for hiking or mountain biking. We have zero light pollution so is brilliant for star gazing. With well over 110 bird species on the property, wallaroos and a large colony of rock wallabies it's a nature lovers delight. Perhaps just sit on the verandah or in the hammock and soak up the view with of glass bubbles. The accommodation: Brand new fully equipped 2 bedroom house, both large bedrooms, with ensuites; full kitchen with dining and living room; two verandahs with amazing views. 02.01.2022 If you're thinking about going to the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves..... Do it. Ironbark House Dimbulah is in a great location to explore them from. We are 75 minutes drive from Chillagoe and only 2 hours from Cairns and Port. There are up to 3 Ranger Guided caves to do, plus others to explore yourselves, as well as the smelters. We chose to do Trezkinn Cave as a guided tour and the rest of the day under our own steam and even though we have done it before we thoroughly enjoyed our day.
