19.01.2022 Today we observed Remembrance Day, 11th November, by gathering together as a whole school to remember and honour those who served during the First World War and those who have died in conflicts since. It was a very respectful and solemn service.

14.01.2022 Keep our community COVID-Safe, Ironbarkers! Even though case numbers are very low in Sydney, we must all remain vigilant: Stay home from school and get tested if you or your children have any symptoms or respiratory illness. NSW Health have set up a new mobile COVID-19 drive-through testing clinic in The Fiddler carpark as traces have been detected in the local area sewage.

11.01.2022 Successful Learner Habit: Feedback (We are Ironbarkers... We are Learners.) Students are learning more about seeking and using Feedback this fortnight until the end of term; about their learning, performance, accuracy and effort. Ridgy the Frog carries a special 'selfie stick' with him to help reflect on his work. He can set it up to record video footage as he makes an attempt at new learning or practises his skills. That way he can watch himself on replay, and analyse his t...echnique and find ways to improve. He also asks others (his teachers and friends) to give him Feedback about how well he is going, then uses their comments and observations to decide new ways to attempt challenging tasks. Successful learners habitually seek out and then use Feedback to make personal growth :) Note: It takes Courage to seek out Feedback, and we must remember to use Empathy when giving others Feedback - our Successful Learner Habits are all inter-related! Year 6 students should wear their special Yr6 shirt if possible. - At 2.20pm on Wednesday afternoon we will be celebrating further, farewelling our Year 6 students for the final time through the Iron...bark Ridge end-of-year student Tunnel (Year 6 ONLY this year, sorry). We encourage our Year 6 students to bring a mobile device so they can virtually bring you through the tunnel with them! They will arrive at the front gates of the school on Ironbark Ridge Rd shortly after 2.30pm, to exit and celebrate with you all outside the school. Kinder-Year 5 students will return to their classrooms to pack up so dismissal can occur as usual at 3pm. Year 6 students with younger siblings will await them at the school frontage and staff will be on hand to assist and enjoy chatting to you all Farewell Year 6... and farewell 2020 from Ridgy the Frog! 10.01.2022 A final reminder about our Book Character Parade tomorrow! Unfortunately, this year we can only have students on site, however, we will be taking lots of photos for you to enjoy after the parade. Our teachers have been working hard to out-do their costumes of previous years... we can’t wait to see your children all dressed up. Thank you in advance for helping to make the day an enjoyable one for our students, celebrating all things literature and silliness!

03.01.2022 Ironbarkers have lent a Helping Hand... Leading up to Christmas, our SRC organised a collection of donated goodies from you all to send to Hawkesbury's Helping Hands. Today, thanks to your generosity, we dropped a few trolleys full of donations to support local families and people doing it tough. Well done to our 2020 SRC, and all of our Ironbark Ridge students for thinking of others! More donations are always needed, and this is, after all, the season of giving, Ironbarkers!
03.01.2022 Ironbark Ridge Community Q&A Please post any questions you have here in the 'Comments', - about our school - about our programs - about learning at Ironbark Ridge... - about the way we do things... about The Ironbark Way! (or email us at [email protected] with Q&A as the subject). We will prepare answers and will produce a fun panel-style presentation to view through the relevant channels over the upcoming holiday period. Most importantly, we will use your Qs in our planning for future school improvements, too! See more
02.01.2022 Celebration Day assemblies... Enjoy a virtual look inside last Tuesday's 2020 Celebration Day assemblies held in the Rouse Hill HS hall. Congratulations to all award-getters, and in fact to all of our Ironbarkers who showed great respect and support for their peers. Well done, everyone https://youtu.be/tagR3n6un5I
02.01.2022 Today we celebrated happiness, kindness, and caring for each other's "Wellbeing" at Ironbark Ridge. Our pathways have never looked so bright, colourful, and thoughtful! Congratulations to all of our classes for their Wellbeing installation artworks. Our theme was "Decorate with images that make you feel happy..." and I must admit to a tear when I saw some of our Kindy kids drawing images of their teacher on the pathway :)
01.01.2022 Earlier this term, students in 4 Sweetpea and 2 Rain Lily wrote messages of support and sent treats to essential workers in Victoria, in a show of solidarity to those working around the clock to protect their community. 4S and 2R's hard work and kindness has been acknowledged with emails, letters and photos returned from The Doherty Institute and police officers from Melbourne's Sunshine Police Station. We are proud of our thoughtful, generous students! Thank you to Mrs Sammut and Mrs Ryan for their organisation and inspiration.
