24.01.2022 A group of Picassos in the making! On Monday night we delved into some creative pursuits and did some painting! We started off with some Bob Ross painintg(at 0.5 speed!). ... 24.01.2022 Annual Report Presentation On Monday night, we reflected upon the year and executive provided their ARP reports to the Rover Scouts in the Unit. It was a great way to look back and see our successes and look towards the future. We are also happy to announce that democracy has prevailed and we have new executive members! Congratulations to all on the new positions and thank you to all those who held the roles previously. ... 21.01.2022 YOGA We tried our hand at socially distanced yoga on Monday night! We started by watching an online tutorial and going through the classic moves like downwards dog and praying mantis! ... We finished by doing some meditation to some soothing music. Were enjoying being back in person!

Michael over the years has contributed so much to not only his crew and Scouting community, but also to the local community. His kind spirit, generosity and humour have made him a highly valued member. ... 18.01.2022 It's that time of year again, Agoonoree is back for another year! The crew had an amazing time on Sunday night running some night activities for the youth there. We hope those still on camp have an amazing end to the week, and we can't wait until next year when Goonie rolls back around.



18.01.2022 We're Zoomin' with a bit of Jackbox Like all other Scouts in Australia, we had to modify our program for #Scoutingathome Luckily in our program for this week, we had an easy night of boardgames, so we jumped on and played Jackbox! ... Everybody throughly enjoyed the night! We've already brain stormed how we would do other nights via Zoom such as cooking nights and DND so stay tuned!

17.01.2022 MKR has had some budget cuts recently and its gone very low budget but Ironbark Rover Crew was up to the challenge! Crew members fought in the inaugural Ironbark Rover Crew MKR Challenge to produce a quick to make but delicious meal suitable for camping! The creations ranged from 5 minute nachos to chicken rice paper rolls! We also learned how took can spilt a block to chocolate and a mars bar to split between a cub pack by making a 10 minute slice!

17.01.2022 Members of the Ironbark Rover Crew helped out Grovely-Mitchelton Scout group this weekend at a classic Bunnings sausage sizzle It was a very busy sausage sizzle, with snags flying off the bbq to customers as fast as we could make them. The crew members also enjoyed a few sneaky snags here and there ... If you see us out in the community, like next weekend at McDowall-Bunya Scout Groups BBQ at Anaconda Everton Park, drop in to say hi! 16.01.2022 On my Honour... Over the weekend Ironbark Rovers commemorated the 163rd birthday of the Founder or Scouting, Sir Robert Baden Powell with the rest of the district. We reflected on what Scouting meant for us and chatted about how the fundamental principles of Scouting are even more relevant today than when BP founded in the movement in 1908. ... It was great to see such a big turn out from the district!

16.01.2022 Who doesn't love a weekend away at the coast? On the August long weekend, Ironbark Rover Scours has a relaxing weekend away at Burleigh heads. We enjoyed the sun and surf , explored the national park , found some treasures at the loca markets while making some great memories!... It was great to finally be back and be able to stay a weekend away as a Rover Unit. Big shout out to Brendan for organising this great trip away!

15.01.2022 Over the last weekend, 4 Ironbark Rover Scouts hiked the Steamers section of Main Range National Park to Lizard Point We hiked the ridge line from the Stern to Lizard Point, intersecting between eucalayptus forest and patches of remnant rainforest! The weather was in our favour with sunny skies and spectacular views all the way to Brisbane! ... BRAVO to Martin for organising this brilliant adventure!

12.01.2022 Wonargo: 49years and counting On Friday night last week, the Rover Unit ventured out to Rothwell to support our talented members of the Rover Unit: Nina and David in Wonargo! We sang along to the songs, laughed at the skits and were amazed by every performance!... 6 members of the Unit attended and we were blown away by the amazing talent and efforts put in by all the Cast and Crew to make another great event! We can't wait for the 50th annivesary next year! BRAVO!

10.01.2022 We were out in the community again this week - GEOCACHING! We jumped into cars and searched for Geocaches across the Northern Suburbs. We found some under trees and some in trees One was even in a native bee hive... We left little notes in each cache we found - let us know if you find any we found on your own Geocaching adventures!

09.01.2022 WERE BACK BABY On Monday night we took advantage of the ability to do socially distanced, outdoor activities in Scouting again! We walked up the JC Slaughter falls track to look at the incredible view from the top of Mt Cootha.... It was great to catch up with everyone and not be on Zoom!

07.01.2022 Ready, Steady, BAKE! Ironbark Rovers on Monday practiced our baking skills through an online bake off! We had both savoury puff pastry scrolls and fire cooked sponge cake made on the night!... Both looked amazing from the photos we saw and the bakers confirmed their creations were delicious!

07.01.2022 Last night Ironbark Rover Crew got creative and tried our novice hands at pottery! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty and creating plant pots and bowls! 04.01.2022 The Ironbark Rover crew has had a busy week over the last 7 days! On Monday the Rovers tried our best at bouldering at 9 Degrees Brisbane! Some of us were starting out but others were flying ahead on some of the harder courses It was a great night enjoyed by all who attended and the crew! The crew also helped out at a local childcares Christmas party, cooking snags on the BBQ for the whole event on Friday night The children loved the event and all the activities o...n hand including a disco #Roverdostuff

04.01.2022 This weekend Dan joined Stafford Rover Crew in competing in Darling Downs inaugural IronKnight Challenge! Dan was truly the #IronKnight giving our team a great advantage in activities such as the Iron Gut Challenge ! Everyone had a great weekend of fun and relaxing and we would like to thank the entire organising Committee for all their hard work.

03.01.2022 To celebrate our districts 60th anniversary, a bunch of our rovers spent this weekend hiking between all the dens in the district! It was a great chance to hangout with all of the younger sections and learn about our districts history!

01.01.2022 Who else has to click the tongs before cooking to make sure they are definitely working? Ironbark Rovers surely did as we picked up the tongs and helped out Grovely-Mitchelton Scout Group with a Bunnings sausage sizzle at the Keperra Store. Grovely-Mitchelton are the hosts of our district Rover den so we thought that it was a great way to give some service back to our local Scouting community. ... It was a great day with the snags flying off the BBQ faster than we could cook them!
