24.01.2022 One of the rottie trio that arrived this evening . I simply gasped when I saw this and was left without words. This girls name is DJ . She has a quite few issues we need to sort through to say the least . Vet lined up for tomorrow first for this girl so we can begin the journey towards recovery for her and her friends . Her mate Rocky is in reasonable condition , Chiara will need considerable veterinary attention as well but in my humble opinion she will come to he...alth quickly with some focused care . They are all beautiful, friendly dogs I know they sniffed the air on their arrival and relaxed a just little bit . They’ll be right now I know this sight will cause outrage towards the previous owners . My adrenaline rose considerably to ! But ....demanding public hangings will not help these dogs and in all reality will not help stop this type of neglect for others. I’m just thankful these dogs are here now . And I hope with all my heart that people in situations that cause this harm ,whether it be through intentional neglect , stupidity, plain laziness or misfortune, will choose to seek assistance rather than hide dogs like these and leave them in pain for fear of retribution . So let’s all get a positive vibe on.....send love to these three and we’ll get them well and into loving homes forever homes together

24.01.2022 I am a Dobermann, cataloged one of the most intelligent and most feared dogs, I have served the US Navy and I will not narrate my dark past on the German side.... They called me the devil's dog, today they ask me to behave like a Poodle, they have gone so far as to wear clothes ... I am a Malinois: Gifted among dogs, I shine in all disciplines and I am always ready to work. Today they ask me to relax on the couch all day. I am an Akita Inu: My ancestors have been selected to fight with other dogs. Today they ask me to be tolerant of my peers, and they blame me for my reactivity when one of them approaches me. I am a Beagle: When I followed my prey, I gave a voice so that the hunters could follow me. I was leading the dance. Today they put an electric collar on me to silence me, and they want me to return to the call in a snap of fingers. I am a Yorkshire Terrier: I was a rat catcher, fearsome in the English mines. Today they think that I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms. I am a Labrador Retriever: My vision of happiness is a dip in a pond to bring my master the duck he just shot. Today we forget that I am a sports dog, I am fat and I have to babysit the children. I am a Jack Russell Terrier: I am capable of facing a fox larger than me in its own den. Today they blame me for my damn character and want to turn me into a parlor dog. I am a Siberian husky: I got to know the great spaces of northern Russia, where I could pull sledges at impressive speed. Today I only have the walls of the garden on my horizon, and my only occupation is the holes I dig in the ground. I am a Border Collie: I am cut out to work eight hours a day, and I am an incomparable artist of herd labor. Today they blame me because in the absence of sheep, I try to control bicycles, cars, children from home, and everything that is in motion. I am... I'm a 19th century dog I am handsome, I am alert, I am obedient, I can put up with being in a purse ... but I am also an individual who needs to express his instincts, and I am not suitable for the sedentary life that you want me to carry. Spending eight hours a day alone on the patio, seeing you a little at night when you come back, and being entitled to any activity just a short walk to the bathroom will make me deeply unhappy. I'll express it by barking all day, turning your garden into a minefield, relieving myself on the inside, being unmanageable the few times I'll find myself on the outside, and sometimes spending my days on my cushion, then you'll think I'm happy to To be able to enjoy all this comfort while you go to work: in reality I will be in full depression, because it is not the preference of the human, but also that of the dog of the XXI century. If you like me, if you dream of me forever, if my beautiful blue eyes or my athlete look make you want to possess me, but you can't give me a real life of a full dog, a life that is really worth living, and if not you can offer me the job my genes claim ... then quit me. If you like my rhythm but are not ready to accept my character traits from rigorous genetic selection, and you think you can change them with your only good will ... then quit me. I'm a 19th century dog, yes. But, deep there, the one who fought, the one who hunted, the one who pulled sleds, the one who led a herd still sleeps. And sooner or later, you will wake up. For better or worse. Elsa Weiss Éducation Canine / Cynopolis Translation edited by Razas Poderosas y de Trabajo.

22.01.2022 I know very little about this trio arriving at Iron Dog tomorrow other than it’s a male and two females , likely all undesexed, vaccinated or even chipped . I don’t even know their names UPDATE ...first mystery solved ...names are Rocky , DJ and Chiara , ages, social abilities, or what physical or mental health concerns they will come in with . I do know I don’t need to explain why I gave this troupe priority to get here especially given they faced destruction i...f they weren’t moved and I didn’t know how humanely that end was going to come . I can thank , on behalf of the dogs in question , the reach out by an Iron Dog adopter and long term follower , who alerted me to their plight , facilitated their surrender and who helped arrange transport from Vic to get them here. That’s where I need some you guys to come in and help us just a little . Transport alone for these three will be $450 . Now I know many are hesitant to donate without tax deductibility which is why I’ll be more than happy if you choose to donate directly to Angryface Transport who has full charity status as pound transport for rescues (not a profit company hence the low transport fee) rather than our https://www.mycause.com.au//iron-dog-rescue-veterinary-fun. Either/or will be fine by me and I’m sure the dogs won’t care either . We are working on our charity status but these things take time to file through and dogs like these simply can’t wait for red tape and bureaucracy.

21.01.2022 Oh isn’t he gorgeous . If only we had room , but alas we’re filling our quota Please share so this lad finds a rescue and consider a donation to the pledge page so he can be transported to a rescue, get his vetwork done and rehab’ed . Please

21.01.2022 It is said Rescue never sleeps and that is true!! Sadly We have had a slow down in our adoption but still a high level of demand for intakes including a mama and her 7 babies The hard truth is her puppies MIGHT make it of the shelter cause there young and cute so adoption chances are higher, but mama’s chances of leaving the shelter is slim to none the grim reality is she is basically on borrowed time before she faces a lonely ending, we could not let that happen so they (ma...ma and babies) are heading to the safety of iron dog rescue where there bright future awaits them, however with 8 dogs coming and also more to come we need a little help, mama and babies will all need vet work as will all incoming dogs as well as providing anything else they might need.... so if you can help us by donating even it’s little bit we would greatly appreciate it Bank details Iron dog rescue BSB 082 851 ACCOUNT 371075925 OR https://www.mycause.com.au//iron-dog-rescue-veterinary-fun Thank you (Landon)

12.01.2022 The overwhelming support always brings a tear or two to my eyes . Thank you Animal Rescue Cooperative. You’ve noticed my endeavours and offered our little rescue more assistance above and beyond. Now I’m not special or above the amazing work of any other animal , companion or wildlife, rescue in our area . ... May I encourage those rescues , community groups or council run facilities to register for assistance with ARC to help in our shared endeavours to make this world a better place, for animals , for those who love them , for those who are doing it tough through no fault of their own .

12.01.2022 Hey Rob......supportive neighbour only found in dreams of true community life ....Imma devising a plan , and way to attach dual octopus limbs so I can walk all the Iron Dogs to your gate and they can shower you with all the dog love you deserve ....seeing as you and Al seem hesitant to come and get openly slobbered on . I suggest you get prepared . Seriously though , thank you for keeping us in vital protein enrichment with your regular chickens eggs, letting me take advan...tage of beautiful Beau for my dog testing and for the very generous financial donation towards our enclosure build ...some may go to vet care I do hope you know . Since the SAS of fluffy toys moved in we’re right with enrichment for the moment Thank you kiwi

08.01.2022 We know that going in....

07.01.2022 The most glorious afternoon for some rottie lovin’ by campfire. Life is beautiful when you step back and enjoy the moment with those who know how to do it best . Love my rots

05.01.2022 I love my unpaid job ! The paid job is okay btw and I do make a positive difference there too I’m sure but.... Isn’t it incredible to be able make memories , friendships , love connections , and life a whole lot better for human and dog ? A unique species connection that scientists still can’t really explain. Yes , yes it is ! ... The bond is so mutually satisfying for adopter and rescue dog. Mutual lives enhanced ...enriched . You save a dog , and they save you . I well know the nervous that comes with introducing an adult rescue dog. The unknown ...the it’ll work better with a puppy ideal . I’m here to prove you wrong ! A well placed adult rescue dog will prove you wrong . If I can’t convince you to stay away from back yard breeders and puppy farms (I love you much if you get puppy from an AKC registered breeder because they do all the right things ) maybe this will .. Tilly

04.01.2022 Shit happens ...sometimes it happens for a really good reason ! Rather than lamenting the destroyed shed (that thankfully had nothing useful in it at the time) which came about because of high wind last night (and we’ll overlook the fact some previous goose built a shed under big, limb loosing elms ).....I see opportunity. The concrete slab underneath the shed will become ....yes ...another spot for a rescue dog separation run . Never fear ...the big limbs that were above... are now on the ground thanks to the hand of Mother Nature so we can safely build another secure run and accompanying outdoor yard for our incoming Iron Dogs . Thank you Mother Nature . You are an inspiration ! I’ll probably have the usual time consuming to and fro with insurance so no guarantee of good news there , and they’ll only cover replacement. If anyone has fencing stuff laying about that you don’t need that may be helpful , posts , excess bags of quick set concrete , heavy gauge fencing panels suitable for big dogs or inclined to make a financial donation towards getting a comfortable space built (by me ...I don’t pay tradies if I can do , and generally I can do ) please get in touch . The more secure spaces we have the more dog lives we can save and ultimately enrich

04.01.2022 A belated welcome to the most beautiful young Tequila Our wonderful Landon met up with transport to get this girl to us ...somewhat delayed by the floods up north . Hello gorgeous! We’ll see what magnificent future will await you .

04.01.2022 Landon thought he’d win in a game of tug with Raynar My money was always on the guy with the four stabilising legs .

02.01.2022 We got in our rottie walk today with Eve aptly guided by Landon , new boy Boston (formerly known as Bruno , formerly known as Boston , now known again as Boston ) expertly guided by Vicky , Braxton and Georgia (me expertly guided by Braxton and Georgia ). . As a sideline I know folks like to change names to have a dog begin a new life with a new moniker as though that alone makes the past disappear . If you were to start calling me Diane my thoughts , feelings a...nd memories will stay and I’d just wonder why the hell you are calling me something different and unfamiliar ( read displacement). Unless they come to me called Massacre, Killer or Bruiser , and we get them ... we stick with the known here ...that’s just the way it is . There’s more to rehab than changing a name as any human witness in protection can ably tell you . As you can see Boston loved the rottie walk and man can the boy swim ! He’s been there before and loved the opportunity to get there again Another beautiful dog that leaves me thinking can I keep you

02.01.2022 Sunday! Last day before we begin the week again I saw this on another group and wanted to share it Another sad reality of this world, we need to protect our fur children just as we would protect our human child. It makes me nervous when I see a dog left out side a shop cause you honestly never know whose lurking around.... I have a Staffy x and true to what some people believe of the breed I have had a person randomly ask to borrow him and another person say she has had a Staffy once and would like to take him for a day to relive the memories,Simple answer yea over my dead body! People think his my protection (he would leave me for dead for a shopping bag full of food, but eventually would return)but I am his protection am I his care and safety, we gotta remember when we get an animal (not just a dog) we don’t just need to feed, walk, and pat it, it goes beyond all that, your taking on the duty of care you would offer a human (although I know a lot of people prefer animals to people ) you become that animals best friend, that animals life, that animals parent and they need you to take care of them always (Landon)
