21.01.2022 After two months out of the water, some major modifications and routine maintenance, the Iron Joy left port on Sunday for the first trip for 2020. Over the next five weeks Iron Joy, her Crew and groups of extremely talented researchers will be working their way throughout the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reefs. Safe Travels to all on board!

They are safe and sound and are now up north at Marion Reef out off the coast in line with the Townsville region. Conditions have been far better than expected, given Oma’s adventures in the Coral Sea. And the researchers have been carrying out all kinds of important surveys. 19.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that we have been forced to postpone our 2020 Fishing Charters for the foreseeable future. While I am sure that everyone affected would consider your fishing charter an "Essential Service" , unfortunately the Government guidelines do not. We all need to comply with their directives to stop gatherings and groups to keep our community safe. "Our behaviour is the most important thing to prevent the spread of Covid-19."... We will continue to monitor the Australian Health Authority directives and plan to resume our Fishing Charters as soon as it is safe to do so. We are all experiencing a unique and unprecedented situation that is near impossible to predict. We will stay in touch and update you as often as we can. 17.01.2022 How would you like to be on board the Iron Joy for a 10 night Coral Sea fishing charter this year? Unfortunately for one of our annual group of Victorian Fishermen, it doesn't appear that they will be able to get here this year. It pains them to do so (and believe me it PAINS them) but they have told me to see if I can get another group together to enjoy their regular dates. The Charter is scheduled to leave Friday 30th October and return on Monday 9th of November. I have a number of people interested so please do not hesitate to contact me for details. DONT MISS OUT!!

Whilst this has not affected our 2020 fishing charter season yet, we are remaining vigilant and will comply with the latest government health advice and AMSA recommendations as the Coronavirus situation continues to evolve. We are currently having daily discussions within our local offshore charter sector and as a... whole we are proactively reviewing any additional measures that maybe required so our vessels remain a safe place for our guests. As always, the health, wellbeing and safety of our guests, crew and their families are our highest priority. We will endeavour to keep you informed of any changes that may affect our charters or operations.

03.01.2022 Who wants to go fishing?????? We are back in action !!!!!! Our first charter is heading out on the 19th of June initially with one of our Queensland Groups and we will continue to monitor government advice in regards to when the border restrictions change for our interstate clients.... Luckily for all involved Dave is a North Queenslander and he is just as keen to get back out there as you all are!! Increased cleaning and reporting but still the same old Iron Joy service you know and love. All existing bookings are still secure unless you have advised us otherwise. If anyone has room on their trip for a few extra, we have a number of people who have missed out due to the shutdown and would love to still get out there this year. As per our COVID Health Management Plan, we will be sending out vital paperwork that needs to be completed by all guests and returned prior to your charter. Thank you for your support and understanding over the past few months and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Here is a snapshot of the new look Iron Joy, sans stabilizers.
