24.01.2022 Happy 2021 to all our followers and history devotees, thanks for being interested in the history of the Irwin Districts. Here are a couple of great images from the New Years Day sports/picnic day at Port Denison, 1934.

22.01.2022 Our Society was formed in 1964, and we are still an important and integral part of the community. Thank you to all our wonderful supporters, be they volunteers, donors, social media followers, local businesses, researchers, and the kind folk who are channeling income to us through Containers for Change. For your pleasure, here are two quite different Christmas scenes: Lions Christmas at Denison 2009 Cutting hay on Carob Bean Hill Christmas 1912.

19.01.2022 It is glorious weather to celebrate our Easter Markets and 150 years of our beautiful old building. Come along to the markets on Saturday and wish the old girl well.

11.01.2022 Fifty years ago Russ Cottage was saved from dereliction and restored as a house museum. To celebrate this milestone and its 150 year life, we have enclosed the west verandah to make a laundry and wash room, in keeping with historic use of the space. The project was made possible through the support of Barry and Kym Wyse of Dongara Mitre 10 who kindly donated all materials. Also thanks to Richard Irving and Jared Plozza for their assistance, and Doopa for all his hard work. We will be officially celebrating the 50th anniversary, and opening the laundry and washroom at a morning tea on 23rd January.

11.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who was involved with yesterday's Easter Markets. We were blessed with the weather and had an outstanding day. It was our last markets. We have been custodians of the event for 20 years and now we are handing over to Dongara Markets who will run the markets in the Town Park. Thank you to all our fantastic volunteers and supporters, particularly our main organiser, the legendary Shirley Scotter.

09.01.2022 Our new interpretation panels in the backyard of the Old Police Station Museum look amazing and do justice to the items and their stories. A big thanks to Dave at Seaside Signs for a sterling job in producing the panels and to Nufab, Bob Cail and Trish Parker for sponsorship. Panels illustrated are just a few of the fantastic suite of panels in the backyard.

02.01.2022 Hi, Members and supporters. Our secretary Bruce with a little help from the committee has prepared a submission to MRWA regarding the Dongara bypass. We are supporting the proposed new route with some provisos. You can take a look at the submission at https://irwinhistory.org.au/?p=2428

01.01.2022 Highly recommended is the Dongara Denison Art Group's exhibition at Denison House this weekend, featuring cyanotypes (blueprints) of historic and contemporary photographs. Images are from the opening night. The exhibition is evocative and beautiful. Denison House is open over Easter, Saturday and Sunday 10am-1pm.
