25.01.2022 Irymple Bowls Report for Thursday 4th July Last Friday evening we had a good crowd again for the weekly lucky members night, lucky member was Betty Whiting but ... unfortunately for Betty she wasn't in attendance so the prize has jackpotted again, it is starting to build up so it's worthwhile coming along, you'll enjoy yourself and you might take home some money. Presentation of the Certificates and prize money for the Restricted Singles was made and an enjoyable night ensued. Saturday Members Day saw 18 players put their names down to play only to be disappointed by the rain, it was also freezing cold and not very pleasant so no game took place. But the free sausage sizzle was very popular and about 40 members stayed to enjoy it and pay there fees, Thank you. Tuesday Social had 24 players taking to the green in beautiful sunny conditions, the game played was 3 Bowl Pairs and there were 4 two game winners, the points system was applied and the winners for the day were Brendan O'Brien and Mac Nichols with 78.5 points. The other 2 game winners were, John Harmer and Frank Pendock with 77.5 pts, Wayne Gardner and Lochie McEachern with 77 pts and Reg Giles and Brian Kent with 77 pts as well. Well done to you all. Coming up on Saturday 6th is the Presidents Day, a good opportunity to take some of the Presidents money, a Nomination sheet is on the board. The President doesn't care if no one turns up, I'm not sure why!! Roster Duty for next week are: The Match window is Julie Lowerson and Iris Guild. The Bar duty is Rod Atkins and Anne Kellett. The men's cleaning is Phil Newton and George Millward and the Ladies cleaning is Julie Lowerson and Ev Elliott. Brendan has planned a meal of "Tuscan Meatballs" for Friday 12th July, so put that in the diary, he cooks up a pretty good meal. An attendance sheet has been placed on the notice board, so put your name up and come along and enjoy a good meal and a bit of fun. That's all for this week so good bowling to all. See more

03.01.2022 Irymple Bowls Report for Thursday 18th July Last Friday evening over 40 members came out on a cold, blustery and rainy night to enjoy a delicious meal of "Tusc...an Meatballs" Ably cooked to perfection by Brendan. Everyone totally enjoyed the meal and the night was a great success. Lucky member was Val Sauer and fortunately for Val, she was in attendance so the prize has started back again to $20. It just proves that you have to be there to be in it and you might take home some money. Saturday Haeusler's Day saw 32 players put their names down to play Mixed drawn fours, in dreadful weather conditions, it was cold and windy with little bit of rain, but not enough to put things off. It was good to see entries from Coomealla and Wentworth, thank you for coming, we hope we made you feel very welcome. Winners for the day were Mark Deakin from Coomy, new member John Vuik, Annette Duffy and Noel Hedley. Runners up were Phil Connell, Brian Kolpin, John Martin, both from Wenty, and Tracie Storer. Thank you all for coming along and making it a great day. Tuesday Social, was another cold and windy day, but we still had 18 players taking to the green to play 3 bowl triples. Winners for the day were Ian Mclean, Henk van Wegen and Val Nichols. Well done to you all. One of our members is having a bad trot at present, Rocky, we hope you get well soon and we wish you all the best. Know that all at the club are thinking of you and Chris. Coming up this Saturday 20th we are back to social events, 20 degrees is forecast so it should be a great day for bowls, a Nomination sheet is on the board. Numbers have been very good of late so let's keep it going. Dress code for the day is Mufti/casual. Our next major event is the Spring Carnival starting Friday 23rd August through to Sunday 25th, there is a few weeks to go but time to put it in the diary. We are looking for a good turnout this year so please support your club. And for the Veterans, Vets Pennant commences August 1st. Midweek 2nd Div. pennant also starts on August 5th and Div.1 starts on August 12th. Also coming up on August 1st, we are calling a meeting of all Saturday Pennant Players at 6pm in the Club rooms, to discuss what you would want pennant to look like for the 2020/21 season and there after. Notices are posted on the all boards at the club with the details for discussion. It will be an important meeting to decide what we present to Bowls Sunraysia as our recommendations, so come along, we need your input. Roster Duty for next week are: The Match window for next week is Ian McLean and Phil Connell. The Bar duty is Phil Connell and Gary Calder. The men's cleaning is Rob Harrigan and Alf Gust, and the Ladies cleaning is Tracy Metcalf and Annette Duffy. After Brendan's successful meal, Col has put his hand up to do one. The date and menu has yet to be set and the details of the night will be forthcoming, so watch this space! There is a list up on the notice board for anyone willing to put on a Friday night meal it would be much appreciated. That's all for this week so good bowling to all and may you enjoy the best of health. See more
