23.01.2022 Festive cheer and festivities are rolling out across the Isaac region as the 2020 Christmas Lights competitions are underway. Council is encouraging residents to raise the bar on their creativity along with switching on Christmas lights and placing decorations on homes and businesses in local communities. Mayor Anne Baker said the annual tradition provides an opportunity for the community to show their festive spirit and create some magical Christmas memories.... What a year it has been! Recycling facilities are unable to accept any type of plastic or reusable bags, including bags made of natural fibres, as they cannot be recycled into new products and cause considerable issues with machinery. ... The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (Queensland) this week announced Isaac Regional Council as winner of its 2020 Award of Excellence for Environment & Sustainability.
