17.01.2022 Assalam Alaikum Warahmathullahi Wabarkathuhu dear community members, With the help of Allah (SWT) we are anticipating to move Taqwa school to Moncrieff this academic year. The construction of the two buildings with 8 class rooms, toilets and car parks have been completed Alhamdulillah. To date, we have spent 2 million dollars including the grants money to complete the construction. As part of the initial stage, the administration building and other ground works are currently... in progress. To finalise it inshaAllah the school is seeking your assistance to complete the remaining work which includes the mandatory fencing. We are running an online campaign due to the current pandemic situation of COVID -19. InshaAllah to create awareness of this shortfall of funds, we will run daily updates about the funds raised through this campaign here, on our website and Facebook pages. 14.01.2022 Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Dear brothers and sisters, The Executive Committee of the ISB Inc. on 7 July 2019 decided to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) in accordance with clause 22 Constitution to hold an election of the Committee.... The SGM will take place on Thursday 25th July 2019 shortly after Maghreb prayer at the Taqwa Mosque, Spence. As required by clause 22(f) of the Constitution, the Committee is serving this email notification at least 14 days before the date fixed for election. Date: Thursday, 25th July 2019 Time: 6:00PM Venue: Taqwa Masjid, 1-10 Curley St., Spence, ACT There will be only one Special General Meeting Agenda as follows: Item 1: Conduct the elections for the next term. Men Only Swimming Program: A Men's only program will run every Sunday, starting on 6 Oct, 5:30 to 7pm at Civic Pool. The swimming program is on a trial basis for the month of October only - we need to be able to demonstrate that we have sufficient numbers to keep it going into the future. 06.01.2022 Assalamu Alaikum. TAQWA Masjid would like to remind the musallis special Jumua arrangements in light of COVID-19 restrictions. The internal prayer hall would be open for the first 90 guests and then closed off. There will be limited outdoor prayer area made available for those who cannot be accommodated indoors. Please bring your own prayer matts, just in case.... The committee highly recommends for the elderly, sick, sisters & children to pray Jumuah at Home and avoid attending Jumu'ah prayers. The Khutba will be made short, starting at 1:20 PM InshaAllah. Please make wudu (ablution) from home as much as possible and avoid shaking hands, avoid socialising after Salah as well and maintain social distancing as much as possible during your visit to the masjid. 05.01.2022 Assalamualaikum Brs & Srs, We are very excited to announce a *Fun Day event* at the *new Taqwa School* location in *Moncrieff*. While the new school will start in the beginning of 2021, a lot of families and friends have shown interest to visit the site and understand our future plans to build a premier Islamic educational complex that will cater for our future generations.... Everyone is welcome. It will be a fun day with free BBQ, refreshments and treats for the children. The program is planned for Saturday 10th Oct but in case of bad weather on Saturday, the program will be moved to Sunday. Please note we will have a limit of 100 people max in each session. Everybody needs a family to navigate life, the good and the bad, we all need support, no matter what is our social and economical status. Taqwa School serves as a hub for the Muslim families to come together, it helps build community, where families can meet other Muslim families and build one strong supportive system for thier kids to thrive and learn more about Islam.
