08.01.2022 Congrats to Alan Paterson on running 50km today. You are a great man and an awesome Dad! I would have run with you but was pastoring today! @alpatto So today, I completed my 50km for 50yrs doing a Maggie Ultra. This is the longest I have ever run and likely never to do again (.....for a while ) Big thank you to those that ran with me. Dean did the 1st half of 25km then climbed the Nelly Bay hills with me before exiting, stage right for an awesome 35km. Val joined me fo...r some of my favourite trail circuit in Horsehoe Bay and was with me to celebrate my 1st marathon. Maddie in her bright pink joined me for the last 5km to help me get to the finish. Our boys joined in, walking faster than I could run, but hey, I did just do 49km. Big thanks to my wonderful wife Sonia, my training widow. She supported me, made the whole day special with some surprises and celebrated the finish. She is wonderful . Thank you again to @sidney_hungryrunner , my coach . All those sessions, all those intervals the last 18months gave me so much confidence that I could do this. Lastly but not least, thank you to so many that came out especially to cheer me on the way and at the finish. I really appreciate it, it meant so much to me and made this day very special. I am so glad to do this on Magnetic Island, it is a beautiful place and adventures are just outside our door!
