23.01.2022 A Matilda Bay kind of day!

23.01.2022 In the lead in to tax time, here is a good article about some often missed tax opportunities in relation to rental properties. Some need to be enacted before 30 June so we thought you might like the article now rather than in July when it's too late.

20.01.2022 At its meeting today, the Board decided to leave the cash rate unchanged at 1.50 per cent.

20.01.2022 Good morning Perth (from Heirisson Island today ). Welcome to Tuesday!

20.01.2022 Tax time is here (boo!) - if you own an investment property, be sure that you're claiming all of the deductions you're entitled to.

20.01.2022 Don't forget double demerits has started and will continue until Monday 17 April 2017

20.01.2022 Shocking news yesterday as an 83 year old woman lost half a million in an online property scam here in Perth. The scammer intercepted emails from the woman's son and wrote back pretending to be her settlement agent! It could very easily have happened to anyone. To look after our clients, iSettlements maintains the most up to date anti-virus / anti-malware software available. We have also updated our policies to always send at least two forms of correspondence when requesting money transfers (ie: email and phone call, email and text, text and letter etc) to minimise the risks. If you ever have ANY queries whatsover when it comes to transferring cash in property settlements, be sure to call to confirm. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

19.01.2022 It does have the potential to smooth the settlement process but mandatory electronic conveyancing will increase the costs of settlement... What are your thoughts?

18.01.2022 With residential property, you'll often hear the terms 'average price' and 'median price' when analysing the market. They're actually very different things and can produce different numbers for the same area.

18.01.2022 The weekend is almost upon us! Although camping and hiking daytrips are more my husband's scene, I have to admit that some of these sound like pretty enjoyable options. Has anyone tried out any of these activities? Any recommendations?

16.01.2022 Breaking News - Real Estate Impacts of the 2017 Budget! Quite a few changes... Superannuation balances to be eligible for first home deposits (but existing balances are quarantined); negative gearing tightened for landlords, over 65's able to downsize their home and contribute funds to their super.

16.01.2022 Morning all! If you or someone you know is considering buying property in a self managed super fund (SMSF) take a read of this article. The wording is a bit dry but it explains some common but not too well known potential pitfalls. http://propertyupdate.com.au/6-common-mistakes-made-when-b/

15.01.2022 Find out what's really going on with those 'Free' property investment seminars.

15.01.2022 An interesting article exploring the links between parents gifting to their adult children and the growing haves/have-nots issue.

13.01.2022 All you need to know about capital gains tax... And more importantly some loopholes and exemptions! Note: get proper tax advice on this sort of thing from a qualified professional.

13.01.2022 Must be a good spot for brekky by the river.

12.01.2022 Just because it is Friday

11.01.2022 Did you know you can obtain a FREE copy of your credit score once a year simply by ordering it from an Australian credit bureau? Your credit score is a number calculated from your credit report at a point in time and is regularly used by lenders to help determine how much you can borrow.

08.01.2022 *Full time (or part time for the right person) Position Available* Experienced settlement agent required for busy residential settlement agency based in the Belmont area. Please email your resume etc to [email protected] (please don't send applications through the Apply button on Facebook).... If you have any queries feel free to call Nicole on 0427 877 450

08.01.2022 Calling all 'Flippers'... With all of the home reno reality TV shows out there, it's tough to tell what improvements genuinely add value to a property and which ones get you nothing more than a 4-6 (and an OMG) from "the judges". Andrew Mirams has written a very solid article on what you should focus on if you want to be a successful 'flipper'... an insightful read from a numbers man.

08.01.2022 The Reserve Bank has held the official cash rate at 1.50% p.a.

08.01.2022 Cooling Off Periods - A Warning It's important to remember that the law here in Western Australia does not require a cooling-off period for property purchase contracts. If your contract does not include a cooling-off period, you cannot get out of a contract to buy a property simply because you have changed your mind.

07.01.2022 iSettlements can settle any property transaction in WA... including Wagin where I'm visiting a client today for some signatures :) #giantram #wagin #wheatbelt #toomanyhashtags

06.01.2022 Perth Housing Market Update for July... by Core Logic

05.01.2022 Mandatory electronic conveyancing is going to hit WA from 1 December 2017. Whilst the initial idea was a good one (to improve efficiencies), in more recent times e-conveyancing had morphed into a profit making enterprise owned by the big banks, the State governments mandating the process and large private investors. Unfortunately, it will mean the cost of buying and selling property will almost certainly go up once the change hits.

04.01.2022 Swap stamp duty for land tax (for everyone), temporarily reduce immigration to limit demand... what do you think of such proposals to fix the housing affordability issues we face in WA?

03.01.2022 And it's time for Core Logic's Perth Housing Update for May 2017. Seems we weren't quite at the bottom of the cycle after all!

03.01.2022 At its meeting today, the Board decided to leave the cash rate unchanged at 1.50%.

03.01.2022 Bring on the warmer weather!

02.01.2022 Remembering all those who have passed in serving and defending the nation we are all so fortunate to be a part of... Lest we forget.

02.01.2022 Guess where we are for a late dinner tonight!

01.01.2022 Quick Stats: 6.9% of Australian mortgage holders have little or no real equity in their homes. That means the house is worth equal to or less than the amount outstanding on the loan. Source: Roy Morgan Research Data (Oct 2016)
