19.01.2022 Good hand hygiene is the most effective way to stop to spread of infections/disease. Even when your hands look clean they can still be carrying germs because they are so small that you just can’t see them. This is why when we touch other people or objects we can spread germs without even realizing it. During KTS, our Year 7's became "Germ Busters" and discussed correct hand washing guidelines, the importance of hand hygiene and experimented with the UV light to see how effective our hand washing skills had eliminated the glowing "germ cream".

16.01.2022 Hand washing is the first line of defense in preventing the spread of disease, but if your hands aren't washed properly you can still pass germs to others. Yesterday, our Year 7 cohort discussed correct hand washing guidelines, the importance of hand hygiene and experimented with the UV light to see how effective our hand washing skills had eliminated the glowing "germ cream".

11.01.2022 The year 10 Introduction to Modern History class have been studying the Women`s Rights Movement. For their assessment, students created multimodal presentations. The following piece of work was created by Sophie Wirth. Well done Sophie! "In 1908, Christabel Pankhurst delivered a speech, advocating for women’s rights and gender equality. In this painting, I used colours and artistic styles to provide my personal viewpoint on the event. The grey background, filling majority of ...the canvas, represents the uncertain future for women; at this point in the movement there is no clear way as to which it will go. The background lightens around Christabel’s figure to present her as the light to lead the way, and blue is blended into grey to portray the masculinity dominating and diminishing the Women’s Rights Movement. The purple in Christabel’s dress conveys loyalty to women and the movement. The yellow banner is the vibrant, eye-catching piece of the artwork, as it caught attention in the early 20th century as well. As for Christabel’s attributes, she lacks hands to prove her powerless alone in front of a crowd in 1908, and the absence of a face represents her identity has been stripped by society as a woman. Removing such features shows how all women were diminished to their dresses a symbol of femininity to provide society’s men with a sense of power." See more
