21.01.2022 Last night Members of the Islamic Society of Western Sydney University attended an interfaith dialogue held by HWPL one of the NGOs under the UN . During this informative online meeting Sh Ahmed Khalil the founder of the Islamic Society spoke with one of the leaders of the Uyghur Muslim community in South Australia Meyassar Yusuf who spoke about the tragic situation of the Uyghur people in China. The sister gave some tips for us to help such as spread awareness on social media, become informed and sign petitions. We ask Allah to give the Uyghur Muslim community patience and strength in these hard times. 14.01.2022 The month of Ramadan is upon us. During this blessed month remember to appreciate your family your friends the food on your tables. Remember the countless bless...ings Allah has given you. Stay away from gossip and use your time wisely. Stay away from the community politics and focus only on how to bring yourself closer to Allah. Go out more to the masajid and into nature. Listen to Quran and do your part in helping the poor and the needy. We ask Allah to open our hearts and minds during this blessed month and make us better people Ameen. See more

10.01.2022 Last year we helped hold IFAM’s annual Islamic Quiz at Western Sydney University and though this year we are unable to host such an amazing event we wanted to share with you all the good memories that were made Alhamdulilah. We will keep moving forward and look towards the light at the end of this tunnel. In Sha Allah things will be back to normal soon and we can keep working with Muslim organisations across Sydney to help our future generation reach their fullest potential. 10.01.2022 Don’t ever feel down about being people of faith. Our faith our religion is a beacon of light. Religion has a purpose just like every other body of knowledge. W...e have tools and we have reasons why we use such tools. When some try to use tools from certain bodies of knowledge in attempt to undermine your faith remind them that in each and every science there are tools that can’t be mixed. We can’t mix the tools of History with Psychology We can’t mix the tools of sociology with science We can’t mix mathematics with jurisprudence and law We can’t understand justice with science and we can’t understand oppression with science we can’t deal with simple human occurrences such as losing a loved one with science Don’t feel inferior for having faith. Most of the greatest scholars of the past and present have faith and it DID NOT MAKE THEM INFERIOR. If anything the principles they had from religion was used as a moral compas guiding them in their fields. Human beings are not robots we feel we think we have senses we have a consciousness which is like no other creature. What sits on our shoulders our minds the way it works is greater than the moon and the sun so naturally we will have to categorise bodies of knowledge and give each it’s purpose. And just to conclude, an excellent teacher is one who respects all bodies of knowledge respects all sciences and finally an excellent teacher knows that he doesn’t know everything. Look for those scholars because those are the scholars that make a difference those are the scholars who aren’t content and strive to better their understanding and the understanding of their students Peace.
