03.01.2022 Our latest website design for a happy customer: https://www.rubycooldesigns.com/

02.01.2022 *Update* Our wonderful community so far have produced over 500 items for our precious wildlife, and we will continue to do so for as long as these items are nee...ded. This is an ongoing effort. Long after the media and their cameras are gone, we will continue to support those that need our help. We are so fortunate to have the wonderful Maree and Terry Turner delivering our lovingly crafted items to the ARC Bairnsdale Hub. These beautiful souls collect and deliver much needed items to the hub almost weekly and are committed for the long haul. We have so far collected $400 in proceeds from bag sales and donations and Maree & Terry will purchase animal & bird feed that has been directly requested by the hub. Great news, Karen from our local store Animal Tales in Cowes and Newhaven can supply these items at a great price. Karen is also working closely with Colleen Gilbee of the former Phillip Island Wildlife Rescue. Colleen is getting through to the front lines with desperately needed items. I know many have been cautious regarding donating to large organisations, but rest assured these incredible ladies will ensure that your donations count. So, why are Boomerang Bags making wildlife pouches? We are at our core an environmental group that love our beautiful land and all her creatures. We have been making bags for almost 3 years from fabric potentially destined for landfill. Textile waste is a massive problem worldwide and we are constantly looking at ways to use or repurpose fabrics. Some of these textiles that we use in animal pouches we have not traditionally used in bag making e.g. flannelette, polar fleece and polyfil. It has been very difficult in the past turning away potential donations as we had no use for them. Now we do! We are still making Boomerang Bags and a few of our Wildlife Sewing Bee crafters have joined us and made a bag or 2 or 3. You are always welcome to join us to make wildlife pouches or bags. We also have pouches cut ready for you to sew at home. Thank you to the wonderful women who are busily sewing at home. We are also custom designing and making pouches for local rescues and catering to a special request from the Bairnsdale Hub for extra large Kangaroo Bags. You are welcome to join us at PICAL every Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10am-4pm.
