25.01.2022 Finishing off the GT40 rear clip for a customer in Victoria. Shipping all his GT40 body parts next week.

22.01.2022 Final assembly and bonding of the GT40 spider inner and outer skins done.. rear clip out of the mold and looking good.

22.01.2022 I have always maintained that ICCARS is about building quality not quantity with regards to our cars, and I now have my 18 year old son Josh welding out the Cobra chassis - look at the quality of his welding.. He is a first year apprentice welder/fabricator at Ware Products who manufacture mining equipment and the like, so his skills are getting finely tuned and he now has the responsibility of finishing off our chassis after I assemble them in the jig. We are starting to get a real production line going now in our industrial shed, and it is a great feeling to make some real progress. Now to start setting up the body prep area..

21.01.2022 Lots of things happening this week at the factory, with the arrival of two machines greatly needed for our future business enterprise. A great deal of gratitude goes out to a very good friend Anthony Spadavecchia owner and Managing Director of B.E. Switchcraft for his generous donation to our business of these two machines, Josh and I greatly appreciate your kind generosity mate and these machines will provide us with the ability to start the ICC-540 chassis assembly as well as build on many other facets of our business going forward.

21.01.2022 Our first Coyote motor and 6-speed manual assembly going in and fitting up really nicely. Time to design and manufacture the chassis mounts using the original rubber mounts provided on the engine/trans assembly and then jig it up for future builds.. Very happy with the fit and look of this engine/trans combination, as I see the future potential for more of these to come in time..

20.01.2022 This is without a doubt the most complex and torsionally strongest tubular chassis in Australia, if not the entire world for an AC Cobra chassis at over 11,200nm/deg of deflection totally un-panelled or finished build.. it takes weeks and weeks to roll the sections, scallop the the main elevations into the 4 tubes, weld it all out on a rotisserie etc etc.. but it is all worth it in the end, because the result is a chassis so perfect it just works in every way..

19.01.2022 Our demo chassis is going to get an upgrade that might (probably will) upset the purist Cobra guys, but hey that's life... We have a twin turbo Barra planned for this with ZF 6 speed trans, live rear axle (9" set up) looking to run 345's max width tyres on 15" rims, although we can go wider - looking to give it a classic look with a modern power plant that would exceed any V8 power output and torque.. The idea being to run each of the two turbos through their own side pipe, use stage 4 cams to give a good lumpy idle and hi revs. We are also fitting for the first time the upgraded Hard Race front upper control arms to this chassis to test their fitment for future builds. Stay tuned for some more updates as we progress this build over time.

18.01.2022 Another Cobra on the way to it's new owner yesterday and delivered today - This is yet another Cobra being delivered by a really great guy Duane from DTC transport (Facebook page - DTC RAM) for anyone who may need any vehicles or kit cars transported across Australia do yourself a favour and call this guy.

16.01.2022 Chassis #10 getting ready to be finished off for delivery as a rolling chassis - the owner will remove the suspension arms later to get them powder coated etc.. then reinstall looking like a new suspension set up. The independent R33 R34 rear ends fit really nice and are strong as hell for these light weight AC Cobras. Front end is Mazda RX7 as standard and looks great IMHO. Cheers Wil Island Custom Cars

15.01.2022 14 BRM’s fitting up beautifully and creating a nice wide stance on the road - 2020mm wide LOL My custom billet ally uprights fit perfectly with the fully adjustable suspension arms. Fitting up the rear clip hopefully tomorrow while making some major mods to the clip width for a wide body set up.

15.01.2022 Chassis # 12 being finished off ready for delivery later this week. Time to start another build!

14.01.2022 Some more progress after a 12 hour Saturday...

14.01.2022 The new addition being cleaned up ready for body prep and then a new chassis to be built for the ICCARS Daytona

13.01.2022 GT40 rear clip coming together all hand laid with internal partitions and light box covers fitted.

13.01.2022 Another kit put together over the weekend by my son and I now ready for pick up - We changed the door hinge style on this chassis to swing out away from the body as far as possible, and create its own door opening stop point from off the chassis. Very sturdy and not too intrusive hinges and works really well.. We gap as much of the car as we can before sending it out to the customer to make their life a bit easier when it comes to the build - but there are always little improvements that can be made (we aim for about 95% correct fitment). Time to get on with the next build now!

12.01.2022 Another chassis coming out of the jig ready for final welding. This is our first newly modified chassis to take custom suspension arms, uprights and steering rack - very exciting times as these changes mean a new era for our progressive chassis design.

12.01.2022 It’s been difficult to get out in the shed of late with my wife having had some back surgery in recent weeks and other work commitments but I maned to get this one rolling on it’s new wheels and tyres.. I don’t know of anyone else doing this set up anywhere in the world, but there’s probably a reason why, because it takes days to get this set up made and installed right but what a sight when it’s finished and now just needs to be painted and it will look a million bucks!

11.01.2022 So after 12 months of waiting (and sizable lawyers fees to fight to get into our own industrial shed..) ICCARS are finally moving into their own industrial shed located at 334 Nurse Rd, Freeling - My own property) We have accessed 1/3 of the full shed, and will move in completely towards the end of the year once the current tenant moves out, making possible the up-scaling of our business going forward. With this, we will be progressing our GT40 builds and IC-540 builds also. ...Thank you to all of or valued customers who have been very patient through this transitional period and we will endeavour to keep building high quality, low volume cars in the future. Furthermore, ICCARS are happy to announce that we have recently partnered with Muscle Car Factory in Victoria who will build all of our base kits to a fully finished turn key vehicle, with a personal choice on engine/transmission, paint, interior trim, wheels etc.. This is a great progression for our business, and future potential customers also. We look to forward to helping you with your project. Regards Wil Escabache Island Custom Cars See more

11.01.2022 Some more progress today with a massive amount of work done on the rear clip to brace it in place and fit the air ducts in place (bastards of things to fit) The gulf wide body guards are still too narrow and the body needs setting about 8mm off centre to get it even to the wheels, then temporarily attach the new guards ready to glass them in place.. love the look even if it is just temporary for now..

10.01.2022 Getting into another chassis build with a few more orders coming through in the last month for our AC Cobra cars, so busy times ahead.. This is Chassis # 12

08.01.2022 Island Custom Cars are pleased to announce the ICC-540 (Cobra Concept car replication), a new custom kit car product we have just acquired that will become an addition to our current kits. This is the only replication kit of it's kind in existence and was formerly known as the DRB-540 or SC-540 before that. This car is based on the new generation Cobra Concept car, similar to the Ford GT new generation cars, however they were never put into production and subsequently an Au...stralian based kit car manufacturer made the molds and alloy monocoque chassis at great expense and delivered them to the Australian market place. ICCARS now having acquired this set up are preparing to bring this kit back to the market with some revised features and options, namely the introduction of the Barra engine into this kit, some revised body work alterations to streamline the look and feel of the car and an option to use a 9" differential as opposed to the BF rear cradle assembly. This is an exciting time for all of us at ICCARS and we will endeavor to continue to provide a great product for many more years to come. Regards Wil Escabache Island Custom Cars

07.01.2022 Starting to get things ready to build our GT40 race car.. body to be fitted very soon, then gapped and smoothed and aligned ready for paint.

06.01.2022 Another chassis out of the Jig and onto the rotisserie to be fully welded out - New door hinge design looking promising, providing much better arc radius for extra clearance of door to body when the door is fully open - much easier to install and adjust also..

06.01.2022 We are very busy polishing and preparing AC Cobra and GT 40 body molds, repairing molds and taking parts from the molds we have, and it always feels a bit like ground hog day. That said we are very proud to continue to produce great quality low volume classic car kits for our customers, and to continue the legacy of those who have provided this service before us. To that end ICCARS Australia are proud to announce that that we have again added to our stables with the introduction of the 1964 replica Daytona Coupe coming in 2021. This will be our Forth and final contribution to the replication of classic kit cars, and will be available early 2021. Thanks again to our customers whom without their support we would not have such a viable business. Cheers wil & josh Escabache ICCARS Australia.

04.01.2022 So, over the last few weeks I have been told that a Barra motor will not fit into an AC Cobra due mainly to the height of the engine.. But guess what, it fits perfectly into out ICCARS AC Cobra chassis - no words can describe how easy it went in and I put it in without any assistance.. I don't say this often but it's Perfect, just Perfect..

04.01.2022 All new suspension and steering assembly parts - updating the Cobra suspension and providing brand new alternatives to our current set up. We intend to maintain the RX7 front end as an option for those customers who wish to go that way, however the new custom front end looks great and is fully ADR approved.

03.01.2022 Getting the rolling chassis ready to go last night then collected by the owner this morning - this one is going to NSW and will be the first wide wheel live rear axle style Cobra from ICCARS to NSW.. happy building Paul..

03.01.2022 Starting work over the weekend assembling our first ICC-540 alloy chassis - I am starting to see why the alloy chassis concept is such a great idea.. within a few hours things are starting to take shape as opposed to a few days work on our regular steel based chassis. We have some big plans for this car including a high HP N/A Barra six, 6 speed transmission, full coil over shocks, adjusted rear guards to better fit and look and a rear custom cradle assembly to house a 9" diff with full floating hub assemblies looking to fit in 12" wide rear wheels running 345 tyres.. We will adapt the ABS sensors to the 9" hubs to maintain the ABS system all round and traction control. Should be a fun thing! Cheers Wil ICCARS

02.01.2022 Warren is absolutely correct in what he has posted, so for any past or potential future DRB/ICC540 car owners we are just a small family business but we are here to stay and can meet your needs with regards to any assistance on any current builds, repair parts or aftermarket parts such as hard tops & roll bars etc.. Just contact us through our website www.iccars.net or through our FB site and we will be more than happy to help you. Regards Wil & Josh Escabache

02.01.2022 Well we were very pleased to be hosting the first group of Mazda MX5 enthusiasts today at our workshop on kangaroo Island - we got some great feedback and Josh and I met some really lovely people. Looking forward to tomorrows group walk through. Cheers Wil Island Custom Cars

01.01.2022 ICC-007 coming together beautifully - Great job done thus far by Richard here in S.A. We are very proud and happy with how he is representing the quality of build for our ICCARS brand.. Cheers Wil
