09.01.2022 This is my story. An Australian born with brown skin at St George’s Hospital Kew, Melbourne in 1976. This is an insight to help educate and bring understanding.... Why I stand for what I do. Grab a cuppa, make a sanga and hear 43 years compressed into 18 minutes. My story is a very subtle one in comparison with so many others. I grew up with Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Pacific Islanders, kiwis, Greek, Italian, Indian, Sri Lankan, Croatian, Serbian, Chinese , Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino, African, English, Irish, White Australians and so many other heritages who were treated less fairly because their white, yellow, brown skin, sexuality or beliefs. My story doesn’t want me to change my skin colour or my proud Pacific Island Tongan heritage. It makes me want to educate others to understand it and hopefully accept it. No sorrow needed. No anger needed. Just your time to listen to hopeful help bring change. I have had and still live an amazing life with no regrets, spoilt with privileges beyond belief. Im no knight in shinning armour. I am GUILTY of prejudice also, but I’m making an effort to change. This is my Reality.
