24.01.2022 Hi everyone, Please share this post to spread this message. It’s nothing new- however an important reminder. This post is aimed towards supporting the many many... small businesses who work loads of hours - often more than a paid 9-5 job for little financial reward. Often the reward is the ability to make a change, offer inspiration, living a particular lifestyle, emerging in a passion or something else (tell me what I’ve missed). I had a life lesson this week - I received my very first PayPal tip from a person who follows me on Facebook and YouTube. When I reached out to thank her, I confided it was my first ever PayPal tip - she was surprised and even a bit shocked - she was under the impression that because I have a dedicated small following (tiny really) she sssumed that others were ‘tipping’ me a coffee or a meal for my efforts in supporting them. We discussed it further and she was truly astonished about how much I do for little financial reward- and I know I’m not the only small business that operates in a generous way - I believe there’s more than enough of everything for everyone - and if we all shared everything just a bit more, what a much nicer world it would be. I get my rewards by feeling valuable and I love having a purpose - however a tip does help in ways that I hadn’t considered - it’s difficult to be a self funded businesses- in fact in our capitalist society, it goes against the norm. Not everyone can tip people for the generous services they receive- having a person they can message for advice, mentoring or to pick their brains about something for no cost. Largely- our western world others by ‘user pays a fee’ system. This post reminds you to support your favourite small businesses by recognising their expertise and helping others see that. Small businesses need interaction and feedback and reviews to survive - so today’s meme reminds you how you can support people in small businesses on social media. Ooo and as the holiday season approaches, consider placing orders from your favourite small businesses for Christmas presents. If they seem like they’re not selling anything at the moment- message them and ask- chances are you’ll be helping them more than you realise. They will do a happy dance that you can’t see.
