25.01.2022 Island Marines NEW Furuno 2kw Transom Mount transducer setup (3D laser cut). The installation includes a Furuno FCV295 sounder and a 82B-35R 2kw transducer mounted in Island Marines fully designed and fabricated laser cut transducer block. The 2kw Furuno System sounds the bottom well at cruise speed on the customers New Bar Crusher, also he has had some fantastic results out fishing. 22.01.2022 A fantastic Furuno install on a Noosa Cat 2400. Finished commissioning and programming the system with 2 x Furuno TZT3 12, 13 Hatteland display for TimeZero pro, Furuno DFF3D, Furuno Deep Impact DI-FFAMP 3kw sounder amplifier connect to a Airmar 3kw R599 L/H chirp transducer, furuno sxc20 sat compass, solid state computer loaded with TimeZero pro with the DFF3D mapping module. The DFF3D multi beam sonar interface to TimeZero pro software is market leader in 3D bottom mapping.

21.01.2022 Noosa Cat 2700 with a overhaul by Rob Lane (RL Welding) and Michael Powe (Island Marine). Installation of a Garmin GPSMAP 8412 multi function display with inbuilt dual 1kw sounder, Airmar M265 in-hull 1kw chirp transducer, Garmin 4kw 18 Radar and full integration with the engines and existing autopilot. RL Welding performed the finest stainless steel workmanship and also the dash panel was replaced with a new carbon fibre panel.

20.01.2022 Furuno Electronics Upgrades and Refit for Southlander Fisheries Pty Ltd. This company runs two superb cray fishing vessels, which operate from Strahan on the rugged Tassie West Coast. Island Marine fitted the latest Furuno Marine Electronics, which is this customers preference. Furuno FCV1150 sounders, 1kw and 3kw transducers, Furuno SC70 satellite compass, Furuno Autopilot, TimesZero PC based navigational systems with sea bottom mapping, VMS vessel tracking systems and more.

18.01.2022 Installed and tested the new Simrad S5100 powerful sounder module, connect to TM265 and B175HW transducers. At this stage the soundings in shallow waters are great. Testing in deep waters very soon. Contact Island Marine 0418248639 for cost effective upgrades and/or changes.

16.01.2022 Two more successful Garmin installations performed by Michael Powe and Craig Webster. GARMIN GPSMAP952, GSD25 sounder module and a TM260 1kw transducer. Also installed the NEW GARMIN GPSMAP8412 12 multi function display with internal dual 1kw chirp sonar, a pair of chirp high and low tilted element thru-hull transducers. Perfect transducer installations resulted with clear sounding at high speeds. GARMIN Marine Electronics is a big from Island Marine.

15.01.2022 Fast Ferry Kilimanjaro 7, lifted onto a ship for delivery to its owners in Tanzania. Built by world leaders @Richardson Devine Marine, this vessel has business class and Royal class. Island Marine supplied and installed the Marine Electronics, 19 Hatteland displays, a full FURUNO Navigational Electronics package, ICOM radios and Simrad autopilot system which is interfaced to the Rolls Royce Jet drives.

13.01.2022 "SIMRAD NEW S5100 sounder module testing" We went out on the Tassie East coast and did some testing with the Simrad S5100 sounder module connected to the SS175H and SS175L tilted 1 kw transducers. We found that the performance over the BSM-3 substantial with solid soundings. Played with the TVG and adjusted the gain manually, end of the day we had three good marks at 280m, could had been swords (trying to find the screen shot to post). Island Marine recommends the Simrad S5100 sounder module, fitted to the appropriate transducers is a great cost effective option for offshore fishing. 12.01.2022 Island Marine staff in Sydney for more training on major brand of Marine Electronics. Very useful deep drop fishing (broad bill and marlin) sounder techniques. Broad Bill Sword Fish and deep dropping has become very popular on the East Coast of Australia and the new sounder technology is one of the tools in catching this magnificent fish. Choosing the correct sounder system to suit is very important.

11.01.2022 Island Marine has been testing the Garmin GPSMAP8410xsv with the GT54UHD-TM transducer and LiveScope GLS 10 sonar black box with the Panoptix LVS32 transducer. We were very impressed with this system the GT54UHD has very very fine detail and the LiveScope is a game changer with fish behaviour and lure activity. Video, school of fish changing direction.

06.01.2022 New Garmin marine electronics fit out on the charter vessel Indian Coast, a 40 Catamaran. This vessel is going into charter around Bruny Island area. 2 x Garmin GPSMAP8412 12 displays, Garmin Fantom 24 Radar, GPS, interface to existing Autopilot and connect to existing 1 kw transducer.

05.01.2022 Island Marine Furuno Marine Electronics installation on the New vessel Spirit of the Wild built by RDM Marine. This tourist ferry is owned by RACT Gordon River Cruises, operates from Strahan and runs cruises up the Gordon River. The Electronics fit out consists with 3 x Furuno TZT2 15 multi function displays with armrest control panels, Furuno 6kw 4 open scanner, Furuno 24 Doppler radar scanner, Furuno class B AIS, Satellite Compass, Simrad AP70 autopilot system, 15 CCTV matching display, ICOM VHF radios, local Moonraker antennas. This vessel has been running successfully for a number of months now. Also the hybrid engines have proven to be quiet and efficient.

It shows that Tasmania is starting to get its name out there as a Fishing Capital. We noted to them that their lures are a bit big and suggested to visit Alex Green at the Fishing Connection. 03.01.2022 Furuno DFF3D multi beam Sonar combined with TimeZero Professional mapping system, is a perfect Professional Cray Fishing Tool. Island Marine has many satisfied customers, making them way more efficient with their catches and understanding the bottom structure.

03.01.2022 Another satisfied customer at Island Marine, installed a Simrad S5100 Sounder Module and fitted a TM265HL (Narrow High/Low 1kW Chirp Transducer). Connected the... new sounder set-up to his existing Lowrance GEN3 display with the latest software installed. A great installation of the transducer by Craig Chad which on sea trials had a sounding at over 35 knots with no interference or noise. Some great images were captured of a shipwreck and bait balls. Installed a FURUNO FCV295 10.4" 1,...2,3 kw sounder, matching a pair of SS164H and SS164L 1kw tilted element transducers. His existing Lowrance GEN2 12" Display is used as a great dedicated Chart Plotter. He cant wait using it in deep waters, after some good soundings in the River Derwent, Hobart. See more
