01.01.2022 Torres Shire Council regrettably advises with a heavy heart that Council has made the decision to postpone the Winds of Zenadth Cultural Festival, due to be cel...ebrated on Thursday Island from 15 to 18 September 2020. This decision was not taken lightly but was taken because of the changing and widespread impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The health and well-being of our communities and our people were paramount in our decision to postpone and Council feels sure that the community understands and supports our decision. Torres Shire Council would like to thank our community for taking the COVID-19 situation seriously, we ask everyone to continue to observe current Queensland Health advice and follow State and Federal Government directions to help minimise the potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) into our vulnerable communities. Together let’s make the Festival in 2021 a great success
