23.01.2022 I have noticed that a lot of my clients that have the NBN through Telstra are automatically being put on the slowest speed connection without ever being given the option to upgrade. Please note that no matter who your internet provider is through NBN, that you have a choice of 3 speed options - 25Mbps, 50Mbps and 100Mbps. If you feel like your internet is too slow, call your ISP and ask how much it is to get an upgrade.

Believe it or not there are multiple ways that you can increase either your total internet bandwidth, or WiFi connection. 15.01.2022 One piece of advice I always give my clients when purchasing a new computer is to make sure they get an SSD (Solid State Drive) as opposed to a regular HDD (Hard Disk Drive). It will cost a little more upfront but the performance and reliability greatly out-ways the cost. Once you have a computer with an SSD you'll never go back!

14.01.2022 If you're unhappy with your internet speed, and can't get NBN - have a look at https://www.vividwireless.com.au I've trialled it with a few clients and so far they've been extremely happy. You'll need to make sure you have a 4G signal in your home. It's speed is limited to 10Mbps but it's still great value for money as they offer an unlimited data plan, and it's still quicker then most ADSL connections! I'm in no way associated with these guys, the product has just helped a few of my clients.

13.01.2022 A number of my clients have been having issues after having the recent Windows Creators Update come through. It seems some devices such as printers and certain software stopped working. If this has happened to you I recommend reinstalling those devices and software. If you have had any issues after this update please contact me anytime !

06.01.2022 When searching for customer support numbers on Google, please be very careful that you only click on the actual companies website who's support you require. Unfortunately a lot of scammers and rip off companies will call themselves "Norton Support", "Gmail Support", "Microsoft Support" etc, pretending to be the official support channels for these companies, when in fact they are scammers who will charge you hundreds of dollars for useless software, or worse install malware and remote access tools on your computer. 01.01.2022 One of the most common questions I get asked as an IT consultant is what brand of laptop is best? There isn't any one brand that I prefer over others, but I certainly do always recommend that you aim for the corporate/business grade laptops. This is the Lenovo Thinkpad series, Dell Latitude series, or HP Elitebooks/Workstations. In general you won't find these laptops in retail stores, you can either buy them from a supplier such as ourselves, or online only. They're a bit more expensive than your average store bought laptop but are built with much higher quality components and materials, tend to last and therefore perform better.
