13.01.2022 The Italian Bilingual School (IBS) welcomed the new Italian Consul General, Dott. Andrea De Felip. The Consul was taken on a tour of the Meadowbank campus by t...he IBS Student Leadership Team. The tour included; classroom visits, a radio interview in the Mamma Lena and Dino Gustin Innovation Centre and a whole school assembly. As IBS was the first Italian Bilingual School in Australia it is highly regarded and is at the forefront of bilingual education in Australia. A shining example for others to follow.

12.01.2022 The lives of students from both schools couldnt be more different: those from the IBS live in a bustling metropolis with beaches and parks, while those from O...ak Valley live in the arid and scarcely populated area of Maralinga, at the edge of the Great Victoria Desert. In the July edition of IN CLASSE, we learnt more about the pen pal project of the Italian Bilingual School in Sydney and Oak Valley Anangu School, in the most remote Aboriginal community in South Australia.

03.01.2022 The students had a fantastic day celebrating Carnevale. The activities of the day were planned around the Italian tradition of Martedì Grasso and encouraged intercultural understanding. Intercultural understanding stimulates students interest in the lives of others. It cultivates values and dispositions such as curiosity, care, empathy, reciprocity, respect and responsibility, open-mindedness and critical awareness.... The development of intercultural understanding is part of the Australian Curriculum.
