24.01.2022 We hope you are all well and maintaining social distancing. This is a reminder for everyone to ensure that you are maintaining a strict backup regime also. If you are working from home and are not setup correctly you may be risking your data. Also, take care not to become a victim of Ransomware as unscrupulous people target the vulnerable. You may receive emails and SMS's suggesting you need to react to the Corona event in some way. It is highly unlikely that anyone, of impor...tance, will send you a link to follow. Scammers are taking advantage of the situation. Finally, we are here to help. If you need assistance with anything please do not hesitate to contact us. 12.01.2022 With the recent Covid virus many clients are looking to the option of staffing their business from home. To date we have successfully transitioned many clients to this model and is working well. Other clients are now well prepared if this option is called upon. Whilst it is imperative to personally stay safe during this "crisis" it is also important to continue to follow your common sense rules when receiving emails and SMS messages. There is no requirement to get a test done... so when you receive that email feel confident to treat it as spam. In addition we have continued to migrate clients away from their 2008R2 environments and onto hosted or in-house platforms according to their business needs. On an unpleasant note we are still getting new clients who have asked us for assistance with recovering data. Whilst we do the best with what we have to work with there is nothing that substitutes a good backup policy and product. Please, if nothing else, ensure you have your valuable data backed up and stored safely - all too often we see clients upset at the loss of their data which can be easily prevented. 02.01.2022 Researchers have uncovered the new type of ransomware called "PXJ" that can delete all backups and encrypt all current files with ".pxj" extension. . It seems t...hat PXJ doesn't share any underlying code with known ransomware families. . The method of attack used by this ransomware remains unclear, but probably through emails. Whenever it gets into the system, it will delete all users' backup copies then encrypt all current files to effectively prevent users from accessing or restoring any data. . These cybercriminals then demand users to pay ransom immediately, or they will double the amount of ransom after three days and destroy the decryption key. .
