24.01.2022 I had a blast at the International Women’s Day event put on by NQ Women’s Legal Services and Qld Human Rights Commission! I was honored being asked to speak and share with everyone there. But especially to pass on some basic self defense. It was great fun working with such a great crowd and hopefully everyone went away with even just a bit more confidence. 22.01.2022 1 year already!! Just before it all shut down.... Master Nigel Paul and myself very much enjoyed the experience of attending the International Taekwon-Do Federation’s International Instructors Course held in Auckland, New Zealand over the weekend. A very well organized and conducted event. Sharing the passion and knowledge of ITF Taekwon-Do with over 200 black belts in attendance. Thank you to everyone involved. Look forward to when we meet again....

We couldn’t be prouder. It was a big and long day and especially for our senior Gup students who were on the floor to the end! We know this seminar and technical assessment event will continue to improve our understanding of and ability to train ITF Taekwon-Do as handed down from General Choi Hong Hi. 15.01.2022 Sun Soo Willows is back!! But now the branch will have to change its name to Sun Soo Gulliver. The new hall is situated on the corner of Palmerston and Staff...ord St, on the Holy Family Catholic Parish campus. The branch will restart this Monday the 24 of August. Unfortunately for my local Willows and Kirwan students this will add an extra 10min on your journey, to and from training. I have had difficulties over the last couple of months attaining a hall near the Willows area, and I made the decision to extend my search further out. I have managed to maintain our usual training times of Monday and Wednesday 6pm to 7:30pm. Please remember to bring your own water bottle, as the drink taps on campus are restricted. Northshore have moved to the community Centre in Iris Lane, which is on the otherside of Northshore boulevard. Willows school are not allowing anybody back yet, and uni club are renovating the building. If you train at willows or uni please go to one of the other branches. 07.01.2022 Massive Congratulations to Lochlan Beazley on your Gold Medal for junior gup patterns!! Not only did he win gold in his section. He smashed down the wall th...at was trying to stop him from even having a go. In the morning his nerves and mind had him desperately wanting to pull out of the competition. He was the only Sun Soo ITF Taekwon-Do member to attend the state championships. It was his first ever tournament. He’s a white belt. But with the love and encouragement of his Mum. And our wonderful Mackay TKD family - Boosabum Ashlee took our Lochlan under her wing and introduced him to other Taekwon-Do brothers and sisters, Lochlan stood up and competed and smashed it! From a very proud Mum...Lochlan ended up taking out gold patterns, gold high kick, bronze fast punches, gold vertical kick. So proud of you Lochlan on so many levels!! Congratulations!!! Also a massive congratulations to Bronte and Sabum Neville Ward and their amazing team for putting on the event! It looked very professional! Our sincere apologies for not being able to attend this one. It is the first we have missed in many years. And it wasn’t by choice! Thank you to all who did support the event...especially those that traveled to attend! I’m sure you all had a great day with TKD friends and family

The executive team has made the decision to suspend training and close all 7 Sun Soo ITF Taekwon-do schools, in the interest of public health. I will be offering online tutorials to all members, starting with the step sparring process. As this Pandemic runs it's course we will play it by ear.
